I want them to port 1-3. Mostly cause I want to atleast say I played 1.
Well its on a few consoles already so you can play them without to much problem and I am sure you could play them on PC if you are inclined to do so already.

I have played them all the way through and 2 is probably the worst entry in the series imo its just straight up busted and annoying as hell in its design. 1 is fine but dont expect much and it also suffers from some difficulty problems in places (also story er whats that?). 3 is probably the first one I would say to try in the series while 4 is the first good entry imo.

As for X I love that game but I spent near 170 hours when it came out maxing out the sphere grid and beating penance and I dont really feel like doing that again. As for X-2 played it had fun felt like a back step from X imo but thats unfair as they change up the gameplay all the time in the series to a greater or lesser degree so I suppose I should say I found the changes much less to my liking that I did the ones that made X. Wont be getting either again despite X being joint second favourite in the series for me I can just play it on the PS2 whenever I like. Game still looks great in SD for me even on my HD tv or monitor.

Ever not think about a thing, then just happen upon it, and suddenly its everywhere? Today I decided to see how many Final Fantasy games were on Steam since I have been playing FF7, and saw that 10 happened to be coming out in about 2 days. Now I see people talking about this everywhere.

(If anyone cares, its got from 3 to 14, excluding 12)
since they now have officially ported 10/10-2, I can't imagine them not porting 12, as they've probably seen porting it to the pc prints money, and they apparently are learning to like money.
It would be freaking awesome to get an official Western version of the International Zodiac Edition. It's so much better than Vanilla

The FFX Remastered is the International Version.

I'm talking about 12 not 10. If you don't know about the International Zodiac Edition version of 12 you should really look it up...it fixed the awful Licence system and actually made it good!

Is Final Fantasy XII on PC yet? No? *shuts coffin lid*
If you're a PS2 owner, you could get hold of the disc and run FFXII on PC through PCSX2. So long as you're a PS2 owner (and thus can get the BIOS legally), then it's all above board.

That'd be swell.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remastered is the first game that I've ever requested a steam refund for! I've heard so much hype about the original game that when I saw that the re-mastered version was on Steam as a special offer I decided I'd see what the fuss was all about and give it a go.

To start with it crashed repeatedly during the opening movie. Googling made me discover that it defaults to using the motherboard's onboard gfx and ignoring your gfx card! Once that was sorted, I fired it up. My first reaction to the semi-interactive cut-scene at the start was "WTF is this shit?" and it didn't get any better for the first battles.

Even if I ignore the awful console porting that makes the mouse and keyboard totally useless (and God I sooo hate having to enter a character name by the console select-a-letter method when there's a keyboard right in front of me that I somehow aren't allowed to type into!) the fixed camera, the blocky graphics, and the seriously uninspiring cutscenes, there appears to be no actual gameplay at all! Seriously THIS is a game that has so many people losing their shit and saying how awesome it is? My patience for getting into this might have been higher but I played FF-13 on console - FFX was supposed to be in a whole different league, but this just seems like a lower/older graphics version of almost exactly the same shit, and it actually does a waaaay worse job of getting you interested in the start of the game.

Is it really just rose-tinted nostalgia gaming for those that played the original to death, or is there actually something worthwhile in there for someone new to the game? I'll withdraw my request for a refund if someone can convince me to give it a chance, but for now it's uninstalled and a refund has been requested!

Final Fantasy X plays exactly like Final Fantasy XIII. I have never heard anyone deny that, if you were actually told that, you were lied to.

I can't speak for the PC port because I am not buying it again when I already bought it on the PS2, PS3, Vita and even the PS4. It runs just fine on all of those systems and it won't run any better on PC, worse most likely. Besides, I like having accurate button prompts and I am guessing that the button prompts will be useless as they often are on PC (Button 2, etc...).

I won't try to talk you out of a refund, you would be better off playing it on a console. It was designed for a console.

Played X on PS3 last year for the first time. Started X-2 but never finished it.

I've said plenty about my feelings about it in other threads(Great concept, awful execution), so I won't annoy everyone by doing so again here. Suffice it to say, Only two things would convince me to purchase/play the game again.

1. The voice acting for Tidus and Yuna is rerecorded to be good, or at least not shit. I would also accept the option to press a button and apply electroshock to Tidus whenever he says something stupid/annoying.

2. Barring that, the ability to skip cutscenes. Especially the pre-battle cutscenes.

I'm also kind of annoyed at the Escapist. Final Fantasy IX finally got a PC port(and apparently a good one too)a few months ago and didn't get a mention on the news page. Final Fantasy X/X-2 gets a port and it's immediately on the front page. Hell, I'm pretty sure V and VI's PC ports also got mentioned when they dropped, but IX apparently just isn't good enough to get a mention.

I would suggest getting on sale (if it ever does) then. There are in-game cheats that you may use with creditable ease of use with the F keys on-the-fly. It also has a FPS unlimiter up to x4 although this comes with a downside that the FPS of the game is tied to the engine so getting a constant 60fps isn't desirable.

There's also an option to play a remix of the original soundtrack which so far sounds pretty good

A lot more effort when into this remaster/port. Even more so than Capcom's remake of RE1 remaster/port.

Some on Steam might disagree, apparently it's the moblie version that's been ported. And that there are still quite a few bugs even though there has been a patch.
