So last week I started to go down to the local game shop to play D&D encounters. I haven't played in 15 years, kinda just interested in doing it again. Anyhow, I checked with my girlfriend to make sure there wasn't a scheduling conflict or anything cause usually I pick up her son from day care because I get off work earlier.
She was actaully all for me going down and playing, which caught me off gaurd, I was sort of expecting her to be relucantly agreeing. You know, like she is fine about it but thinks it is super nerdy or giving me a lot of crap about it. I expected that because there is that stigma about D&D plus she hates Magic the Gathering and it is easy to lump those games together because well they are play side by side and owned by Hasbro, yadda yadda yadda. But anyhow, she was all for it. Gets me out of the house and meeting new people which is good because I recently moved to the town.
So have you had any situations like that where someone was a lot more supportive in your nerdy activities than you expected them to be?
