Can we go back to the middle east?

We probably will when it gets back to current times.
I like the idea of any concept that brings any game closer to San Andreas; I hope they add pimp missions and Master Sounds too. They're already coming out with a game a year. This series is like this generations GTA.
As much as I love the Italian Renaissance, I think it's time they move on. Maybe the next ancestor can be involved in the French Revolution. That would be pretty cool.

Surveys like this are quite a bad idea. You only get an idea of what people like, not what would work with the series.

As for a new character.... well. It's not that I have a problem with going away from Ezio and the Renaissance (unless this Brotherhood and the next one are like episodes and then a last game after them), but the developers may face a problem. Guns. They appeared in the renaissance as new tech, but then they became better and more popular. So what is Ubisoft gonna do. Make everyone including Ezio use guns as a primary? Then it's a third person shooter. Make the guards only have guns and make the range weapons helpful gadgets? Maybe, but then there wouldn't be much hand-to-hand combat and the game would seem like an Arkham Asylum stealth section. Make barely anyone use guns to keep it kinda the same? It would work but the game would seem way too impractical. idk, I just hope Ubisoft gets it right.

The game could be set in the Desmond future period and a handwave could be made that guns have fallen from prominence due to a rise of awesome futuristic melee weapons.

I would totally accept that for the sake of gameplay.

That would be pretty cool. I'd play that. Though if they find a way to have guns and it not be a problem, I'm really starting to warm up to the French Revolution idea. I have an idea: What if the Assassin's were kinda the enemies. Like the revolution starts with the Assassin's overthrowing the king (who is templar). But then, since the actual revolution went too far, the revolutionaries (or assassins in this case) killed many innocent people. So your character is with them until he has a revalation that wht they're doing has gone too far and leads his/her own assassin's to overthrow the evil assassin's.

It's a crazy idea and i don't think it would work, but who knows.

I hope that they don't end up putting a huge focus on multiplayer :/ So far as I can tell (being in the PC ghetto I can't get the game yet) it looks like AC:B had the balance about right, but I could see it going the wrong way pretty easily.
