4. What genres?
RTSes, RPGs, action, puzzle, casual flash games, the occasional FPS...

5. Have games ever made you angry when playing them? (ex. Rage quit, swearing)
Yes, though it tends to simply be a result of extreme frustration with a game mechanic I find silly.

6. Have games ever made you physically violent when playing them? (ex. harming the controller)
No.

7. Have games ever made you angry when not playing them? (ex. thinking about them affected your actions)
No.

1. Age: 38
2. Gender: Male
3. How often do you play video games?
Twice a week
4. What genres?
Everything but sports.
5. Have games ever made you angry when playing them? (ex. Rage quit, swearing)
Swearing. Frustration. Real anger at the game. Never quitting though.
6. Have games ever made you physically violent when playing them? (ex. harming the controller)
No. (maybe once or twice back in the day when controllers were absolute shit and were the reason you lost a game).
7. Have games ever made you angry when not playing them? (ex. thinking about them affected your actions)
No. But some multi-player experiences have. Thinking about Trash talk from other players has made me angry when not playing.
8. Have games ever made you physically violent when not playing them? (ex. thinking of them affected your actions)
No.
9. How often do you engage in violent behaviour?
When I was younger (under 25), quite a lot. Now I've grown up. Never.

It would be interesting to ask people who play sports for answers to the same questions. Some sports players have problems with violence and can't seem to leave things on the field. I'm sure if those people played games, they'd answer yes to a lot of your questions.

My answers to your question 5, 6, 7 & 8 would be exactly the same for sports in my case.

Alright, I have a Bachelors in Psychology, so in addition to answering your survey, I'm going to throw in a few basic suggestions that might help your grade (Putting suggestions in parenthesis (...).

1. Age: 26
2. Gender: Male
3. How often do you play videogames? Daily, a few hours.
(This is an unspecific question. For general, demographic data, Id give a 1-7 scale, defining 1 as never, 4 as regularly, 7 as constantly. For more detailed analysis, Id give either an Average hours/week (If your thinking of looking at long term effects of video games) or hours in the past week (For looking at short term effects)
4. What genres? All except sports and racing (Having a list to check off from would make data collection more easy and succinct)
5. Have games ever made you angry when playing them? (ex. Rage quit, swearing) Frusterated, on rare occasions. (A better definition of angry might be needed. Are we talking angry at parents for asking to turn off a controller, or angry at the plight of starving children in Africa? Asking how angry you get might be better, since its quantitative instead of qualitative)
6. Have games ever made you physically violent when playing them? (ex. harming the controller) No. (Id define violence a little more, but I think I know what you mean. Football is different from gang fights)
7. Have games ever made you angry when not playing them? (ex. thinking about them affected your actions) No
8. Have games ever made you physically violent when not playing them? (ex. thinking of them affected your actions) No
9. How often do you engage in violent behavior? Never (Id put a list or a scale, otherwise sifting through the data in a meaningful way will be either impossible or unnecessarily hard)

(If you want to impress your teacher with your scientific rigor, go look up Selection Bias, Participant bias, Experimenter bias, and the particularly strong dangers of Qualitative data on Experimenter bias. If you do want to use this information but can't find it, ask me, I'd love to explain. I'm sure that if you throw these things in, your teacher will be impressed)

1. Age
21

2. Gender:
Male

3. How often do you play videogames?
Atleast 1 to 2 hours a day. If I'm busy with work+school then it's usually half an hour. But I game everyday.

4. What genres?
RPGS, hack and slash, actionadventure, adventure, FPS, Puzzle, Platforming, Metroid (yes I consider that a genre), fighting games etc. I'm quite varried.

5. Have games ever made you angry when playing them? (ex. Rage quit, swearing)
I swear from time to time if something really annoying happens that wasn't my fault. A 'bullshit death' as I call them. Dying thanks to terrible camera's or unresponsive controls. If it's my fault, I just sigh.

6. Have games ever made you physically violent when playing them? (ex. harming the controller)
I had a bad habbit of biting myself in my hand if I got reallllly pissed of with Fighting Games when I was like 15, and I have really sharp teeth so those would leave a mark for atleast 3 days.
Now I just switch the game of if I feel myself getting close to that level of anger.

7. Have games ever made you angry when not playing them? (ex. thinking about them affected your actions)
No.

8. Have games ever made you physically violent when not playing them? (ex. thinking of them affected your actions)
No.

9. How often do you engage in violent behavior?
I'm a pacifist, I don't approve of physical violence in 'rl'. It's simply a stupid man's way to act when he's proven he doesn't have the selfesteme or controle to win the discussion.
That aside, I get into a fight about once a month. Be it troublepeople in bars or simply people that hate me. I walk away when I can but it's not always that easy.

1. Age: 19

2. Gender: Male

3. How often do you play videogames?
Very frequently when that adequate hardware is available, which it usually is not.

4. What genres?
Mostly action games including First person shooters, tactical shooters, stealth, platformers, RPG's (Mostly Western), but occasionally strategy games when I am feeling patient, and casual games when I am procrastinating.

5. Have games ever made you angry when playing them? (ex. Rage quit, swearing)
But of course. Anything interactive can do that.

6. Have games ever made you physically violent when playing them? (ex. harming the controller)
They have never made me physically violent. I don't like to break expensive things.

7. Have games ever made you angry when not playing them? (ex. thinking about them affected your actions)
Only if they put me in a bad mood prior to my non game related activities. The mood fades as always, and if I have not played recently, they do not affect me.

8. Have games ever made you physically violent when not playing them? (ex. thinking of them affected your actions)
This I have never done.

9. How often do you engage in violent behavior?
I never engage in actively violent behavior. I do like violent simulation sports such as fencing or trap shooting, however.

Best of luck with your psych study my friend.
