Louis drops the affectionately named Bones on the ground. He takes out his flashlight and twists the cap. The beam of light illuminates the dark aisles of the store.
Looks like there's more here than I thought.
He heads down the aisles, loading his cart with crates of bottled water, canned fruit, and nuts. A rancid smell permeates the air as he works his way to the back. He catches a whiff.
"Ah, Jesus."
Louis lifts the collar of his shirt over his nose and continues to the butcher. There's some aprons and a few busted up knives wait what is that?
"Holy shit."
Louis admires the object in his hands and puts it in his bag. This is definitely going to come in handy.
He grabs three chef's knives and places them in the basket.
There's some clothes hanging on a hook, and some black shoes on the floor. Looks like a meat cutters uniform. A bit ragged, but it is clean, and anything is better than what he has on now. He empties his pockets, pulls off his pants and shirt and changes into the uniform.
"It fits."
He puts on the apron for good measure. Might as well complete the ensemble.
He grabs a few bundles of thread and twine and throws them in the cart. He grabs a cutting board too. He takes a look around.
I'm done here.
Slinging Bones over his shoulder, Louis grabs a few chocolate bars and leaves.
On his way back, Louis hears James screaming for Piper. He drops Bones and runs to the Post Office.
"I'm back. What happened?"
