First, let me send everyone to this video, in case they have missed everything that has come up...

And secondly, after you have said watched/heard of this ordeal, what does everyone think? I was never a fan of Fallout 3 or New Vegas, I had a few issues with them, but this is interesting. I love when companies do stuff like this, getting me interested.

Finally, the date on the website, thesurvivor2299.com , leads to December 7th, AKA the Spike video game awards. Are we going to get another 'Phantom Pain' type announcement? Let's all hear ideas here! Will you watch the Spike VGXs with a chance Fallout 4 would be announced?

EDIT; Here is another video chronicling todays events for those who missed it...

Why would I need to watch a 22 minute long video when the obvious stuff is already out there and can be summed up in like three sentences:
1. The site is registered by ZeniMax, mother company to Bethesda.
2. The little logo by the timer is obviously the Vault Tec logo from Fallout 3.
3. 2299 is a year that's pretty close to where current Fallout canon is at.

God lord, this is the mother of all virals. Well after watching that video I no longer have doubts about the legitimacy of it all.

I have to say, this is all incredibly complicated, and just to elicit an interest in the game, too. What happened to the good old days where something was actually announced and we didn't have to get lucky enough to get a glimpse at those hints to even know it exists?

It actually isn't.

It LOOKS like it was registered by Zenmax, but it uses the entirely wrong website company to register it, and not the one Zenimax ALWAYS uses for their stuff.

Going by how Skyrim's announcement turned out, we could even get a release date next week. Next Christmas for Fallout 4 sounds good to me!

I agree with this. Usually, hoaxes are not usually complex, and the one thing that makes me believe this is that the whole radio transmissions part of the ARG.

And the registering domains, and the fact that the phone number was property of a Zenimax employee, and that all in all it makes too much sense...

im just hoping its not in the skyrim engine if it is real. that sucker is buggy as all hell
Since when has Bethesda Softworks not released a buggy game? At this point its considered part of the charm to have giants sending you into orbit.

If this is a hoax I won't begrudge the guys who made it at this point, the amount of work they've put into it surpasses most trolling attempts and is rather nice puzzle for those who are into alternate reality mind-games.

I kind of want it to be a really, really good hoax.

Like, a REALLY good one. Just to watch people flip the heck out... And also because a 50 year gap in the timeline is ridiculous, especially since Bethesda has it's idiotic "We can't go before the present timeline! No prequels! Suck it, fans of Fallout!" rule.

If it's a hoax, then it's a good one. The register by ZeniMax is pretty conclusive in itself. But considering that for E3 Bethesda said "We're not ready to reveal it yet", and it's been some time since then (and coming on 4 years since the last Fallout), official or not, it might as well be for a new Fallout. Either way, we're gonna get new Fallout, either because this is legit, or this drummed up so much hype that not do one would be a near criminal waste of money that fans aren't giving them.

Holy Hell! If this is a hoax it is remarkably well thought out, well executed, incredibly complex, and very thorough. Given all of that I find it very difficult to believe that this isn't legitimate.

If/When the announcement for Fallout 4 is made, it will be glorious after all of this buildup.

Wasn't that the point of the jimquisistion episode 2 or 3 weeks ago? Too much secrecy in the industry...
Anyway I hope it's indeed true, but I'm not going to be too excited, just in case it's fake...

Half Life 3 confirmed!

Seriously though. I love it with when people throw out sneaky things like this. The perfect way to give people info is to wrap it in conspiracies and enigmas.

I will for sure set my clock so I'll be ready in 20 hours! (which is evening in CET, yey! My time-zone ain't crap for once!)

I Love Bees happened (and it was awesome), announcing a video game has never been the same since.

Anybody good with code decryption? I am not sure if this has anything connected to something posted previously but I am curious. If anybody here has a knack go for it, I am too dumb so I will be searching the web to see if anyone else has it figured out (nobody seems to so far).

Man I hope Fallout 4 is being announced soon, I am so pumped!
