That is a skewed study then if "that's so gay" is allowed but not "up yours gerbil fucker".

Also 100% of this 69% can be traced back to video games as video games have used those words in the past, there must be a link.
THEY BACK-TRACED IT! WE DUN GOOFED! D:

But seriously, words are just words. As soon as people learn that they only have as much power as you give them, the world will be a lot better off.......probably a lot louder with vulgarities, but better still!

PS. I laughed at the 69, too.

Let's face it, Sopranos and Deadwood probably take 50% of that.
Deadwood. Heh. Reminds me of that Family Guy sketch...

Did anyone even look at the list of swear words?
"Crap," "damn," "bastard," "suck," "screw," "hell." ...
Those are Sunday School Swears.

How old are these people? And where is this cloistered convent they live in?

Did these guys not read Fahrenheit 451 when they were growing up back in the 50s? Seriously, why censor so much if it's just simple TV. Maybe shows should have an option before the show starts that you must use your remote to click "Regular / Censored" version, so everyone's happy and no one's left out.

looked like a lot of news channels and if that is true then they have to say things out of context that are swears.

Only 69? Someone get Yahtzee an after school special.
*Watches graphs
Five minutes 72%
ten minutes 76%
thirty minutes 95%
an hour 150%
Fixed.
OT: Wow. There should be less swearing (I don't think excessive profanity makes anything better), but really? You're counting words? Who the hell (1) has this much time? Damn (2), how many make up 69%? And were they watching every network, 24/7? If not, how can they say it's 69% of television words? That's 69% of five networks, not television.
And how is a bleeped word bad? Yeah, your imagination takes over, but at least they aren't saying it? Would you rather they changed it to shut that mocking flower up?
Yippy ki ai Mister Falcon?
And if that sucks is bad, what's next?

Funniest thing about this bullshit study:

In the written portion of the article, they use the terms 'f-word' and 's-word'.
In the table on the last page, they use 'fuck' and 'shit' like normal people.

Note: I do believe in protecting children, and that curse words should not be a part of their everyday language. I don't think it's a matter for the legal system to deal with though.

Shitty parenting that results in asshole kids that curse like fuckwits is the responsibility of the assholes that turned out to be shitty parents, not some bullshit organization formed by asshole parents of kids that can't curse worth a damn.

Like the episode of The Simpsons when Marge watches Itchy and Scratchy and takes note of the violence?
I'm glad to see they're using their time productively. I hope they're not neglecting their kids while they're obsessing over stuff like this.

Here in Korea they don't edit out anything. They swear in music videos, television shows, etc. Hell, they even swear in the music at the grocery store. America needs to lighten up in all aspects. I really do not miss all of America's craziness.

no matter the medium, swearing is part of life get use to it
there are 3 solutions to this swearing increase ... change channel ,turn it off or drop dead because it's everywhere
