Swine Flu: Did you catch it?

I caught it, had a bit of a fever for an hour, then I was fine. Worst flu ever.

You realize that by sheer odds you would have caught the regular flu instead of H1N1? Granted, that could be any number of strains, not just one, but the other strains combined are far more wide-spread than H1N1, and besides, there's no way to know which strain you have without a lab test. Hell, it could have been a common cold; some people experience nearly identical symptoms for both a cold and flu.

As for me, I didn't get the shot, and had about a week where I had a stuffy nose and sneezed a lot. I'm not presuming what disease it was, because I don't care.

i dont´t know, i had a bad cold for a long time so i hope that was it. two years ago i had a flu that was creepy because i only had minor symptoms like a harsh throat and a snotty nose but it wasn´t that bad at all. after 2 days those symptoms got better, but i felt ultimately worse and started to develope a fever. i went to the hospital because it was a sunday but they even wondered why i was there and said i should relax, assuming i was super sensitive in that case. the next day i had pneumonia. my lung made sounds like a bong getting hit. i had trouble going upstairs to my bedroom because i couldn´t breathe right. that was über-scary. i had to take strong antibiotics that are normally used in clinics only, for two weeks. right when i thought the infection was gone, i started to spit and cough blood! not much but it freaked me out so hard the day it happened that i stayed at home in agony until my then-girlfriend forced to go to the hospital. they checked everything and found out that the blood came from my nasal septum from a chronically damaged set of veins(i´m NOT a coke head). that all was really weird.

at least i stopped smoking for half a year after that, even though it was mostly because of lung cancer-paranoia.

Maybe. I had a flu, but I don't know if it was swine flu or some other kind. I didn't really bother having it checked. It didn't hit me too hard, though it lasted a little more than a week.

I get all sorts of free immunizations at work so of course I took the shot. I did not end of with the enchiladapocolypse.

I wasn't really worried about it either way, but I figured I'd get the shot for my daughter's sake.

Yeah I got it probably it was because of that concert in a really small pub....I was just sick for some days no big deal.
Heeheh my school closed up for a whole week after that because of the flu...

My roommate caught it, was in the room for a day, and then he went home for a week. I never so much as got a cough that year, which is incredibly lucky considering I always forgot to get the shot.

It might have been swine flu, it might have just been a normal flu. All I know is that I got to skip a week of classes and sleep a lot.

I've never had a flu shot of either the regular or the swine. I've caught the regular flu once in almost 16 years, and I haven't caught swine flu.

Nope. Think about 5 coworkers got it. All I got was what I would describe as "The good old normal flu". And I did not take the shot. Somehow I felt it was more likely to kill me than the actual swine flu.

I did at the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle. It was a head-raping flu, however it still doesn't compare to the godawful Month-Long Skullfuck that some as-yet unnamed virus gave me right after my girlfriend. As horrible as the Mucinex commercials may be, it kicked the ass of THAT bastard and I am eternally grateful for that.

2 days after catching it a second time i was offer the shot -.-
before anyone says you cannot get it twice. oh yes you can.

I have never taken a a regular flu shot or even a swine flu shot ever, and I never get sick. It's weird because I have friends that get their flu shots every year and end up getting sick regardless.

Thse videos alone should make you think twice about flu shots.

I didn't catch the hamthrax, i didn't get the shot either, my immune system is damn good; must be because of my love of oranges <3 Mandarins

i was waiting for everyone who got the shot to turn into zombies, so far it seems i'm safe though.

is it still a big deal?

I got it, and it was bloody hell for 3 days. Then it was some nice time off.
It doesn't help that when i get sick, I get REALLY sick anyway...

It was pretty overhyped at any rate, it wasn't that dangerous.
