For those of you who, like this poor fool, have been waiting with baited breath for SotS2 and are currently having.. ...issues shall we say; I have good news!
The game you got is actually a beta build, yeh the same thing that happened to Dead Island happened here by the looks of it. The devs are currently uploading the final build to the Steam servers as we speak, so keep checking for updates.
The beta version comes in at a little under 5GB, while the final is around 2GB, so just checking the install size should tell you if you now have the right version - when it comes out.
Oh and the manual has been uploaded to the Paradox forums, so if you want you can always read the manual while waiting for the game. Ah, the 1990's, how I... ..occasionally missed you.
