Rena watched as more flowers grew on the ground, this time spelling out a message in Fae. Reading the message and nodding her head, she wondered how to respond before saying quickly. "W-well, I came to the mountains to hunt the bandits of my own free will, and then we met a weird wizard who gave us these pretty crystals and told us to save a village being attacked by people who can't die, but with these crystals they can die, so we're going over there to kill them cause they're evil and then we're going to be celebrated as heroes with a huge feast and maybe even a new bow for me!" She said all of this in the Fae language, and was out of breath at the end.

This was... unexpected. And most certanly unwanted.
The Fae had had easily suprised them, and there were beyond doubt more than one of them. This whole thing seemed somewhat unlikely, given what little he had learned about the Fae. To be attacked by a small band of Fae? Out here?
Yet here they where, and Fae or not, this was still an attack.

Drogon placed his legs a little longer from each other, moved his weight a little lower and watched the landscape a lot more carefully. He was like a coiled spring, ready to propell himself sideways and out of danger any second. He had little to no understanding of Far tongue, but it was clear that Rena was trying to reason with them.

Not enemies? He was not conviced about that, but if there were a way out of this without bloodshead he would give it a chance. They had killed enough people on this journey until now.
And if it was not possible to reason with them? He was ready.

Terrus relayed the next message to Arborus, the look of realization obvious in his expression. The same look of realization flushed over Arborus's face as he heard the news and, just as Terrus had, remembered a strange mage giving them peculiar crystals along with a strange assignment. The two might not have taken it, had their oak not been threatened, but they were left with no choice but to comply. 'What's the worst that could happen?' Arborus had remembered asking his brother before they had set off. Here they were now, already off to a bad start with meeting the other 'travelers' as the mage had put it. It probably wouldn't have hurt for the mage to give a bit more detail about the group, though what was done, was done. Arborus released his hold on those above and the grass slowly receded to its former state with the flowers receding as well. The nature elemental signed to his brother, recommending they go topside. Terrus nodded and motioned for Arborus to follow. Arborus pulled the mask part of his helmet over his face, and slowly, side-by-side, the two peered out from the sod, only going far enough so their eyes were seen just inches above the grass.

Rena spotted the two of them and giggled before flying down to them and landing nearby, her wings flapping gently still as she said with a friendly smile in Fae once more. "Hi hi! My name's Rena! What are your names?" It seemed she was intent on making them friends since she had no hostility at all. Giggling, she continued to speak in Fae. "I knew you weren't bad! Wanna come with us? Maybe you'll be able to join in on our celebratory feast once we save the day!"

Malyc had seen movement out of the corner of his eye. He turned towards it... Only to take a well aimed stone right between the eyes. He dropped to a knee, dazed and bleeding from the previous head wound getting broken open by the stone.

"That'll leave a mark" He muttered, distantly aware of Rena, who continued talking with the other fae.

Malyc briefly considered how they were going to fight back, but then the attack stopped, and he saw two heads pop up out of the ground.

"This one's Terrus," said the nature elemental, speaking in their native tongue and cocking his thumb at the Fae next to him.

"And this one's Arborus," said the earth elemental, speaking in their native tongue as well, also cocking his own thumb back at the Fae next to him.

"We're brothers."

"Twins, even."

"Completely alike."

"Well, nearly completely."

"Very nearly completely."

"But not entirely."

"Not at all. We're different, too."

"Very different."

"But not too different."

"Nuh-uh."

"'Tis nice to meet ye."

"Tha' it is."

"Anywho, we were already plannin' on joinin' ye's."

"Told to join ye's, more like it."

"Very true, by a mage."

"Strange mage..."

"Very."

"We wouldn't mind a feast-"

"Not at all. Love 'em."

"-though we were just tryin' to get our 'ome back."

"Indeed. Tha' bein' said-"

"We'd love to join ye's."

"O' course! Though I really do 'ope-"

"Tha' yer friends would..."

"Y'know? Have no 'ard feelin's about this whole...err..."

"Disagreement?"

"Mis'ap, right?"

"Misunderstandin', more like."

"O' course. So..."

"No 'ard feelin's?"

The two Fae leaned in opposite directions, peering around Rena and observing the rest of the group recovering from the attack.

Rena turned around as well and translated for the Fae twins, giving a nervous chuckle as she said to the group. "Eh heh, it seems that this was a whole misunderstanding, and they were looking for us this whole time. It seems that they were sent here by the strange wizard as well, and they wanna join us, if only to save their own home. Pretty please can they join us? They said that they're really sorry about all this!"

Sorael started to rub his head after the little incident with the two fae. He couldn't believe that they were able to get a shot in on him but he saw that they could be useful. "So those two were trying to join us from the beginning. Well I can see some use for them so I will allow them to join. And by the looks of it we are almost at Newbridge and we should reach it in an hour." Sorael said.

Drogon moved back into normal position. Though he did no longer stand ready to fight, he had not completely let his guard down.
He decided to think the situation through.
Did the sage send these brothers to fight along with them? It was unlikely to be a trick, for that was only possible if the sage and these two were working together. And it was not to kill the band of travellers, that he had already concluded. At least not to kill them yet.
There was only two possibilities again:
The sage and the brothers were working together. They meant to use the group to something, to manipulate us. And then we will run out of usability for them, and they will probably kill us.
That is what I would do if I where in there position.
Or? What if?
Maybe the brothers where telling the truth, and really had been forced to follow the group.
Drogon was prepared for both possibilities.

So with all the information put together he could see four scenarios for what was currently going on:
The sage was using them, and that might lead to the groups death.
The sage and the brothers was using them, another instance that might lead to the groups death.
The sage was telling the truth, yet another way to die. Undead warriors was never a good thing.
And the most unlikely:
All of this was a jape or something, and there were no threat. And in turn, this meant that he could claim his pay and continue his travels.

Just one hour left. One hour left until he knew the answer.
Drogon watched the twin troublemakers as he moved over to Gnûrlon. He had to find out what the rest of the group meant about this.

Drogon sighed and felt the situations heavy cloak of distrust weight him down.
What would he not give for the last possibility to be the right one?

Malyc sheathed his blades, more forcefully than was necessary. He was mainly unhappy that they were entirely caught by surprise, and the way these two fae took turns talking was making his headache worse.

"Let's move out" Malyc said, as he resumed walking for Newbridge.

Sorael noticed that it started to get darker out, that little event with the two fae took longer than expected and it was nearing the evening. Sorael had never been to Newbridge but he saw a sign a while back that said that they were close. As they got closer to Newbridge sorael felt that something was wrong. "Somethings not right here, we are getting close to the town why are there no people?" Sorael thought to himself trying to figure out what was going on.

As they got closer sorael noticed an orange glow and what looked like smoke taking over the sky in front of them. Suddenly everything clicked for sorael and he knew exactly what was going on. "Shit! The wizard was right and we were too late!" Sorael shouted before starting to run towards the town. The feeling of failure started to overtake him but he was still hopeful that there would be at least one person to save.

Sorael started to run towards the town moving faster than he thought he could. The town came into view and the second he got a good look at the entire town he stopped. Sorael was shocked as he looked onto the entire town burning. He couldn't pick out one building that either wasn't on fire or wasn't burned down. He could tell just by looking at the town that everyone was dead and there was no one to save. Sorael cursed at himself, he thought of everything he could have done but didn't. He felt like this was entirely his fault and he had failed all of those that had died. Sorael walked up to the first building he saw and noticed the burned corpse of what looked like a young child. Sorael punched the wall in anger and disgust at himself. "Everyone, try and find anything that can lead us to who ever did this!" Sorael ordered.

One thing but there will be no useful items to find here and everything is completely burned.

"Damn,so i guess buying some new clothes is out of the question?" Said Athgar when he saw the burning town.He scavenged the area to see if there was anything salvagable but no luck.

"/Whoever or whatever did this was powerful,no doubt about it." The voice said without anybody hearing it.Athgar found a half burnt notebook and flipped through it.

Gnûrlon walked past Soreal while trying to find any clues in the smoking piles of wood.

"It wasn't your fault." Albin said while walking past Soreal.

He walked up onto a very big pile and kneeled down and started to dig. Ash and dust were filling the air but even though Gnûrlon started to spit out pieces of ash he pushed himself to keep digging, and hoped that he could make a better impression this time.

A whole town burned down? He had seen this before, but he have never been asked to search for anything in the town. His fingers got burnt on a glowing stick and the pain made his eyes water.

"Athgar, help me out with this pile!" Albin shouted, irritated by the situation.

"Welcome to the reality of war" Malyc said as he walked up behind Soreal. He didn't look at the child, haveing seen too many children die in combat. "The only things we can do are avenge the fallen, and protect those that we can. I'll see if I can find the tracks of the men who did this" he announced, as he headed for the outskirts of town.

Arborus and Terrus looked solemnly at the burning ruins that surely used to be a town. They heard the spear-wielding aquean request a search of the smoldering piles that were once buildings to try and find anything of use. The Fae twins began exchanging whispers and shrugs, Terrus cupping his mouth against Arborus's ear and Arborus doing the same with the mouth of his mask and Terrus's ear. Both were uncertain of what they should be looking for, but began searching nonetheless. Arborus leapt and fluttered from ash pile to ash pile, prodding with the spear end of his blowgun, sifting for anything worthwhile. Meanwhile Terrus was on all fours, scuttling around the ruins like an armored bug, feeling and sniffing for a pockets underground, hoping to find something burried beneath the ground or cellars hidden by the ash.

"I need help with digging this giant pile, I can't do it myself." Gnûrlon said in reply to Athgar.

He continued digging and saw something shiny right before he had to close his eyes to rub his eyes to get rid of the ashes.

"Athgar, there is something made out of metal in the ashes!" Albin shouted to Athgar. Albin started to cough up some big chunks of ashes and was gasping for air.

Athgar dug through the ashes and found a metal spoon. "I think this is what you've been looking for." Athgar tossed the spoon to Albin and coughed from the ashes. "I doubt we'll find anything important here." Athgar looked around the ruins to find anything salvagable.

So much for the last possibility.
Whatever had happened, there was really a threat.

Some members of the party had already started following Soraels command.
What kind of clue was there supposed to be here? A footprint? A survivor telling them what happened? A horde of ravaging undead around the next corner?
But trying was better than giving up in the end.

Drogon headed over to the smothering ruins of a large house, probably a inn or tavern, since it was larger than the housing around it. And no rich man with a status care about built his home in the outskirts of the desolate town.
Spreading a thin cover of ice over the parts of the ruins closest to him, he them proceeded to poke around in the ashes and halfburned timber with his dagger.
How was this going to lead to anything?

"Sorael! There is no use in searching the ruins! We should try to go around the town. If a large number of... well anything left or entered the town, we might see it! Rena is a hunter, she might be the best pick when it comes to tracking!" he shouted to the tall aquean standing at a distance, closer to the rest of the group.
