I'll admit I'm a Star Wars fan and MMO junkie.

So when pre-order were first available I pre-order the collector's edition, although I agree a bit to expensive. Then several weeks ago I got an email saying I was invited to an upcoming beta test weekend(non-specific), but then after that I never received another email(including my spam folder)

I don't feel now like shelling out the money for the collector's edition. It would be one thing if I never got invited to Beta, but to get an email saying I was, but never actually invited is another.

I'm guessing you were signed up to the beta testing? Because i'm pretty sure that email you received WAS your invite.

Greetings Username,

Your account has been selected to participate in an upcoming Star Wars?: The Old Republic? Beta Weekend Test. If you have previously tested or are currently participating in an ongoing test, you will be invited again. Additional details for this upcoming test will be announced soon.

As part of this test, we will be partnering with games industry sites to distribute additional beta codes as necessary. This will help ensure we meet our population goals, so we can effectively stress test our servers in preparation for launch. Please do not acquire and redeem one of these codes as it could jeopardize your ability to participate in this test.

As a reminder, should you choose to participate, everything associated with this test (game information, process, forums communication, etc.) is confidential and may not be discussed outside of the Game Testing forum. Additionally, your participation in the Game Testing Program is subject to the Game Testing Agreement.

May the Force be with you,
The Star Wars: The Old Republic Team

That was the email I got. I went to my account on the website, there was no options to download the client. No instructions on anything else. No links in the email.

That wasn't the download email. You should have received two more emails since then after confirming on the main site.

Obviously. Did you confirm on the main site and make sure your security was up to date, etc?

They would have been essentially blank emails with PDF's attached. and they're no good now anyway.

Were you registered and signed up for testing before 11.11.11 on the site, with all 5 of your security questions entered and your password up to code (a minimum of 8 characters, one uppercase, one lowercase, one number)?

I do know that there were emails sent out telling folks they got into the beta that actually didn't. This may be the case, but I can't say for certain. I got into the beta about two weekends ago. My email stated that I had access to the beta weekend, and gave me a link to download the client. Again, the only explanation I can come to is that this is one of those mistaken invites.

yes, the first thing I did when I got the email was go to my account on the website. So everything was up-to-date. I signed up for testing when first available and checked several times in the previous months.

Um, second thought, where would you have gotten that link? In fact, I've never received an email that looked like that. The email for testing included a "RESPOND NOW" button.

When have you gotten that email?

When was that email sent? A month ago? They sent to almost everyone that signed up on the beta signup list (those that signed up) on accident. I received one as well. They quickly found the issue and resolved and issued an apology.

though I was in the guild beta anyway... so it didn't really apply to me.

November, 11. Same day they made the announcement, they everyone who had signed up before then would get access. I don't think this was an accident.

Well unless your email is linked to a forum or Origin account that's been subject to suspension or banning I rather think it was. They had more than 2 million people in the beta over those weekends. Not had to imagine that some emails just didn't go.

Ah, that's the "select European countries+US/Canada" email, it's not the one everyone got. The final weekend was later (although it wasn't really final, there was one after it to test a slightly newer version)

you had to sign up to another site like IGN or something, they had beta keys that you could use and get the client

emails do get lost, maybe ISP accidentally blocked it

you should have gotten in all the same, if you had checked your tester status and took 5 mins to check a forum. though i guess youre a bit late complaining about this now. And collectors edition isnt expensive at all, the stupid statue (which is going on ebay asap ><) is worth 80-90. So basicly not sure if trolling or ...
