The symbol nabla in physics: I've seen it around a lot of times, and it's iconic in quantum mechanics as well as electrodynamics.

And this one as well:

A while ago I was looking for a neat logo to display while my pc is booting (through asus fancystart, look it up if you're interested) And I found these buggers:

They're called tomoe, and there's like a million of them. Ever since than they've become my go-to badass-ish symbols because I like their asian vibe and how they're not as cliche as the ol' ying-yang. Plus it turned out they don't really have a meaning, they're just decoration. That's a plus in my book because it means there's no risk of them turning out to mean something completely unintended.

Oh, and the flag of the Drowning Doom from Brutal Legend.

Agreed,if they made a T-shirt of that, I'd buy it...

Also, I like it because in incorprates the Egyptian Anhkh. And speaking of which, I've always liked the Eye of Wadjet/Horus

As an interesting side note, the Anhkh normal means eternal life. But here, since it is shown upside down, many people take it to mean eternal death, which fits very well with the Drowning Doom.

Just...this.

Because of one of my ex-girlfriends, and her love of the character it represents. She associated the character with someone important to her...became important to me too, I guess.
Princess Daisy?

Anádelta/Atled - The upside-down uppercase letter Delta.

And the uppercase letter Psi.

Heh, yeah. My ex had this really close friend by that name, and...well I can't divulge what happened, but she started associating the character with her, as a way of coping. For some reason it's still important to me, even though I haven't even spoken to said ex since August.

Funnily enough, the numbers 2 and 27, they're lucky numbers to me.

Also, the ouroboros, flamel snake of fullmetal alchemist, and the triforce from LoZ.
And if it counts, I suppose dragons? I collect anything I can with a dragon on it.

I quite like the Ouroboros [https://www.google.com/search?q=ouroboros&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:eek:fficial&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=m9e_ULiSI5Sk0AXnsYCoCw&biw=1920&bih=886&sei=pte_ULPFE5KT0QXLz4HQCQ], no particular reason. I always imagine this when Jordan writes about the Aes Sedais' rings.

Was there ever any doubt?
I am genuinely surprised this has not already been posted 10 times.

As a bassist...

...Can there be anymore important symbol?
Bassists unite!

OT: I always liked the alchemic symbol for earth. I love how simple it is mostly, I've wanted to have it tattooed on the back of my hand for years

Though I'm also partial to the earthbending symbol from ATLA and LOK

The Ravens Nest symbol from Armored Core. I will and have always been...

A. Raven.

Amen, brother. Lynxes are bullshit. The Last Raven was also the last good Armored Core game, far as I'm concerned.

OT: I'm rubbish at embedding images and whatnot, but the Grinder symbol for me. Not to be confused with... Oh, good Lord. Googled Grinder to attempt to find an image and it's weed grinders and gay iPhone apps far as the eye can see. One sec.

http://doktorsleepless.com/index.php/Image:Grinder_Symbol_II.jpg

That's the one. Doktor Sleepless is amazing. Hence my avatar.

Oh, crosses too. Wore them for years even though I've never been religious. Pretty ones, though. Not boring crosses.

From Dishonored, I really liked it since I first saw it (to the point I have it as my profile picture).

My electrodynamics teacher calls it "Nabla" and so does Wikipedia, but I've never heard it called "Atled". I knew it was an upside-down capital delta, but "Nabla" was the name of the symbol that stuck with me.

Actually, speaking of capital Psi, you know what other capital letter I admire in quantum?

Chi, the symbol of the all important property of particle physics, Spin.

EDIT: Actually, Chi may only be used in Griffiths and with the three quantum mechanics teachers I've had, but damn I love it.
