He's a chef, he cooks meat on tv all the time.

Such is the way of annoying pedantics and over zealous ignorant people.

This. This a million times.

Part of the RSPCA's argument (which has been completely glazed over in this thread) is that the rat was tame. Now I'm not saying that makes it any better or worse, but it's something to think about, it didn't run away from any person and apparently (according to experts I read about in the News of the World) that deems it as tame.

I'm actually really impressed that a chef, of all people, a rich one in fact, actually hunted down and killed a rat and then fed it to people.

That's some crazy shit, I gotta say. He's hardcore.
They were trapped in the Jungle with nothing but rice and beans, it was a matter of time before someone did something

All he has to do is justify he killed the animal for meat, not for entertainment and he walks. I highly doubt any judge will look at this case and take it seriously.
I fully agree, but what gets me is that this happened in the first place, has anyone ever pressed charges against Discovery channel? They film Hunting and killing all the time, and that's all for entertainment.
My cynical side says the RSPCA is just out for some publicity. Either that or they've gone batshit loco, holmes.
It's PETA in diguise trying to ruin the RSPCA's name!

Also isnt this show about dumping a bunch of people in the Aussi jungle then taking entertainment in their misery? They're up in arms over one unlucky rat (wonder what happened to the rest?) what about what the cast of the show has to go through?

Bear Grylls has the excuse of being former SAS, and could parachute into your house at night, kill you with a mean look and then disappear in the dead of night. In other words, don't mess with a man whose given name is "Bear".

To quote Pulp Fiction Sewer rat may take like pumpkin pie but I'm not going to eat the filthy mother f**ker! They had no need to kill the rat they should have just asked the production crew for food! The RSPCA are not an animal rights organisation, they are an animal protection organisation. It's like saying the police are a human rights organisation!

I donate to the RSPCA I would NEVER ever donate to the wackjobs in the P.E.T.A! The british PETA are the ALF and they are nut jobs. Bomb planting lab rat freeing nut jobs!
