I started gaming (that is table top to you young whipper snappers) back in 1984. I've been gaming consistently ever since. Like most folks, I started with what there was available: D&D Red Box, then quickly moved to AD&D (aka 1e). I played that and some other things that were around--Mavel, DC, Paranoia, Car Wars, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and on and on. I discovered Call of Cthulhu and Runequest and a really great group that valued deep role playing over hack'n'slashing. Then I found GURPS in 1988 and I basically stopped DM'ing D&D because I had found the perfect system for me.

Joined the Army, played V&V, T&T, Vampire, Star Wars, Stormbringer, Rolemaster, Hero, again all sorts of stuff...augmented with some card games (Mythos and Jyhad)--all this time I'm still GM'ing GURPS. Came back to the states, decided I should try D&D again now that 3e had come out...was bored and irritated by it, but kept getting convinced to play by friends.

Nowadays, I'm playing or running GURPS still. My hope it to avoid playing D&D again if I can avoid it.

Though I don't like d20 D&D, I do enjoy trying out new games and I'm pretty much up to try anything once. I have a million games I'd like to try out: Unknown Armies is the top of the list, but also Cold City, Orkland, Houses of the Blooded, Nobilis.

I just enjoy table top and will probably keep playing it until I die.

My group plays:

Marvel Super Heroes (the old version not the new one)
Talislanta
Star Trek (FASA system)
Arcanum 2nd Edition
Darkurthe

We have on rare occasions played:

D&D 1st edition and 3.5
Warcraft
Iron kingdoms
Gamma World

I may be missing some but that's the general list of things.

It's very possible I get beaten to a pulp by the table top community, but I still consider myself fairly new to the table top community(only been playing since 3.5, so around..... pushing five or so years.) but what are GURPS?

My brother in law hosts 2nd edition DnD campaigns quite frequently and invites me to many of them.

Lol journey, i'm not sure if that would quite count as a table top game. Is table tennis a table top game? if voted yes, then I would say that air hockey is as well.

On a side note, I don't think I ever played any D&D pathfinder campaigns that I know of, but I have heard nothing but good things about that rule set, which makes me want to at least read the rules on it.
When I have time, which I don't, I play 40k (Tau, Eldar, Daemons, and 'Nids), Pathfinder (sorry, 4th killed me), Old World of Darkness (everything except WtA), Continuum, Shadowrun, Dark Heresy, WEG's SW RPG, Deadlands, Call of Cthulhu, Paranoia, Traveler, Unknown Armies, tons of board games, and am always looking to branch out. I think my next taste will be Flames of War as soon as I find a good ruleset for the 10th Mountain in Italy.

Sadly, my life right now leaves me very little time for these.

As for the Pathfinder ruleset...here you go. I think it's as good as 3.X can get, and may be the best ruleset for D&D ever released. I'll always have a soft spot for old 1st and 2nd ed fluff, and Paizo are quite good at writing fluff as well, but 4th makes the game a predictable slog. Basic-Advanced were all stupefyingly restrictive and insanely brutal. 3.0 and 3.5 were a munchkin's wet dream and casters made everyone else irrelevant. Paizo gets it...well...as good as it will get.

The rules for Pathfinder are available here at no charge. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/

I play the standard DnD 3.5. Im currently DMing, though Im not that good. Im currently re-reading the core books bit by bit to sorta pound in all the little basics I often overlook.

Largely play by post, unless you count card games. A little D&D 3.5, but mostly Window, these days. Always the DM.

I've done one or two play by post games, but just don't like them, can't really get into the game itself. seemed to hard for me to keep up with, if one person is gone, then you've gotta wait for ever for the game to actually progress.

Check out Pathfinder. It's what D&D 4th should be, but isn't. Love that Pathfinder...

D&D 3e. (Not 3.5, oddly enough.) We don't play as frequently as we used to, but there's been talk floating around of stepping up our game to allow us to really get into the game.

Got a campaign setting I've been developing for a few years now. Large world, with as much depth as I can cram into it. I'm really trying to make a "living world" for the players. Not sure if it'll ever see the light of day, but it keeps me busy.

I don't have a gaming group at the moment, but as recently as a few months ago I was playing AD&D 3.5 edition. Over the years, I've played:

* AD&D 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 3.5 and 4th editions
* Vampire: The Masquerade
* Star Wars (West End games)
* Cyberpunk 2020
* Shadowrun
* Tunnels and Trolls
* Metamorphosis Alpha
* Ars Magica 2nd, 3rd, 4th editions
* Rolemaster
* Call of Cthulhu (Chaosium version, not the d20 version)
* Robotech
* Warhammer 40k epic scale
* Battletech

and probably a few more that I can't quite recall at the moment. I think out of all of them my favourites have been Ars Magica and Call of Cthulhu. Anyone in Perth, Australia need an extra player for their campaign?

Weekly games with the Pathfinder ruleset (and some 3.5 stuff adjusted as necessary). We're a fairly heavy roleplaying group, which is a bit of an issue for the newest member coming from a rules-heavy meta-gaming group.

I play in a weekly Dresden Files campaign (based on the FATE system), and my boyfriend is starting up a Pathfinder campaign this week! Funny how these things work; I'm browsing the Escapist while working up my character.

Warhammer 40k player here. I love that game, tabletop gamin has always interested me as a history major. Moving actual models that represent troops on a battlefield is famr more interesting to me then a virtual representation of it.

Also gotten into Flames of War. A historical WWII minatures game, a decently historical representation of the actual armies of WWII on the european front. I live in AMerica and there actually arent any American players where I go to play the game. It's all British, German, Italian and Finnish armies. I'm the only one who plays Russians!

Sweet, I'll check it out and suggest it to my group. Thanks!
