I'm sure this idea has been done before for a thread in some capacity, but I figured I wanted to try it out.

Take any old post of yours that you think is apropos. Post it here. How have you or your posting habits changed? Did they change at all?

Never post in the Religion and Politics forum ever. Especially if you don't have the same opinions as the people who post there.
This post is from August 2011. I've noticed that in many cases, my early posts tend to be extremely short statements, and I feel that to some extent, I've at least tried to more effectively develop my answers and thread contributions on a more consistent basis. I'm also surprised I was so damn scared of R&P. That's...sort of an odd feeling. Probably had something to do with me being rather young and not having especially developed opinions at the time. Though I'm not sure if I could really call my opinions developed even now. ^^;

But also...dear god, I looked through some of my old posts and goddamn, were they stupid.

What about you guys?

Nah, I'm pretty much still me. That's still something I'd be liable to say, and delivered in the same way.

Sometimes when an old thread gets resurrected I'll stumble across one of my own posts without realizing it and be all, "Man, this guy has a sense of humour exactly like mi... oh."

Of course, other times it's, "Man, this guy is kind of a dick. No need to go jumping down people throat like... oh."

Here's what I said in a thread about the stupidest thing you've heard people say:

Queen Michael said:
"The Twilight series are the best books ever!" But only for the reason that people who say this never have read Proust, Dostoyevsky, Strindberg, Dante, Cervantes or Wu Cheng'en, and still think they are in a position to judge if he Twilight series are better than the writings of these people.
Yep, I'd say this is still a thing I'd say.

I'm not going to quote myself since I'd need ten quotes to illustrate my point. My point being that I'm amazed how much I used to commit to arguments. These days I kind of drop my opinion like a turd and get out before the smell hits me. Even when I'm the one who starts the argument, I rarely manage more than one or two responses before I realise I can't be fucked.

Look up Jennifer Hale on IMDB... its ridiculous.
She is THE FEMALE VOICE ACTOR

Although one of her most well known works is as commander shepard.
When people ask me why I would play female over male Shepard its always a very simple answer, "Jennifer Hale and nice ass."
Yep, I think I'm still just as retarded :D

EDIT: Fuck, I used the wrong "its" twice! WTF was wrong with me?!

Cheeky bastard.

I have trouble finding any semblance of anything resembling a consistent defining personality or attitude in my old posts. Not that there's much there now. ;_;

Send me a grilled cheese sandwich from the other side of the pond and we'll talk.

OT: Looking at old posts is actually kind of refreshing. Back in 2010 everyone was just bitching about the whole hardcore vs casual gamer divide. No doxxing or swatting; just good ol' fashioned elitism!

Sure. Here you go. You'll have to do the commenting, though.

So we could be more "appropriate", what does that word even mean? Appropriate in what sense of the word? Cover up everything? Have both men and women ashamed to show their bodies because some conservative idealists think it's inappropriate.

Really?
If you want to go back to these romanticised "old times" that never actually existed, fine, but count me out.

The idea of chivalry and chastity are silly concepts that never worked in the first place, rather dissent from these rules wasn't made as public as it is now.

I'd much rather skimpy outfits and gimp suits to the dry society you're proposing.

Holy shit. This is embarrassing, I hope you realise just how excruciating it is to show this to people.

I might be sick.
This was my first post- In my defense I was 14, and I defy you to find a 14 year old boy that isn't fucking retarded.

May 2011, a thread about what my last words would be.

I'd say that one's still pretty accurate, to be honest.

Halo 4 comes to mind. Because Halo games never evolve in the actual gameplay department new Halo games can only be judged by me in the Story department. I absolutely hated the story and it combined with H:CE Anniversary and the Forerunner novel trilogy back in 2011 made me give on Halo having a 'decent' story again.
Even the gameplay annoys me because aside from a few missions, each one is padded to ridiculous length to support the pathetic length of the game.

I was tempted to say Mafia II because I felt like that just wouldn't end and it was incredibly tedious and padded in the last 5 missions, alas.
Hmm, well I disagree with my some of my own points for starters. Especially since I replayed the four main Halo games recently and yes, the gameplay is different.

This, it seems, was my first post on The Escapist forums. I haven't changed much. Spelling, grammar and punctuation are still balls. I started as I meant to go on; you couldn't count on all four of your limbs how many posts I've dedicated to shitting on Halo 4. It's me being negative posting in a thread which isn't about discussion but about a collection of opinions that the original poster goes over and gains perspective on... something. I think back then I was trying to be merciful to the "cool" internet opinions with my comments on Halo, though. My apathy has since gained massive strength and I'm all like "fuck da haterz y'all" and my love is much more easily expressed on the forums.

I suck, I really do.

EDIT: For the record I look more sympathetically on Mafia II, and I do actually look forward to playing the third one. I pray that they sort out the issues Mafia II had.
