So, think of your two favorite tv shows, and imagine if the main character of each show swap places.

Who is it, and how do they fare?

Tony Soprano would do well as a member of the Baltimore police department OR the drug trade. His ruthlessness and animal ambition would see him climb high in either. Fitness, however, would remain an issue.

Both Omar Little (homosexuality) and Jimmy McNulty (Irish alcoholic) would fare poorly as the head of a major Italian organized crime syndicate. Both would likely be killed by underlings before the first episode was up.

The Doctor would not make a good President of the United States. He'd get bored within a week and offload the job to someone else. Then he'd leave. Actually given how he reacts to being appointed President of Gallifrey at the end of The Five Doctors I don't think he'd last a week.

I think Jed Bartlet would do just fine in the TARDIS. He's open minded, very intelligent and a charismatic speaker.

(And it's just struck me, although it is perhaps heresy to consider casting an american, Martin Sheen would make an amazing Doctor.)

I'm not sure what my favorite TV shows are so I'm choose two I love arbitrarily.

I, Claudius and The Thick of It.

Well Claudius would probably do brilliantly in Westminster, he's used to an even more brutal political enviroment and can avoid purges while still controling things. He's has the problem of actually having ideals and morals but he's used to compromiseing them so he'll do fine.

On the other side we'd have Malcolm Tucker as Emperor of Rome. Now that's a scary thought.

Homer Simpson as the Admiral of Battlestar Galactica? Hilarity Occurs!

Adama working in the powerplant would be interesting. Seeing him being fed up with Burns' terrible business strategies and begins to work his way up to CEO, and then overtaking the owner somehow...... Which Homer already did......fuck! Simpsons really did do everything!

But Rick Grimes would be terrible at making Crystal Meth, he's a cop. That isn't his job, on the other hand i'm sure Walter White would do just fine in the zombie apocalypse.

Hmm...

Twilight Sparkle and Batman from BTAS. 0_o

I'm not sure if either would survive very long in each other's respective universe.

Let's get them both on the table early

So, Mal Reynolds in Ponyville and Twilight Sparkle on the Serenity...
It might actually go not all that badly, but probably not all that well either. They're both largely the mediators of their respective groups, but Mal would have an easier time than Twilight (plus Nathan Fillion can sing). He'd probably be able to help the ponies with their problems but he'd probably wish there was more danger in their lives though.
Twilight wouldn't be able to get the whole crew to listen to her; Jayne only kind of respects Mal, he's not going to take any advice from unicorns.

Don Draper is a US Marine who has been rescued after 8 years of imprisonment and he may/may not be a terrorist? He'd probably screw his jailer...

Nick Brody is an advertising executive in Madison Avenue? He'd try to blow it up, but then decide not to at the last minute and shoot something in anger.

Batman from TAS switches with Skips from Regular Show

I can see Skips as a pretty good superhero seeing that being immortal can be very useful. Batman, on the other hand, would probably beat the crap out of Benson and leave.

Since I don't have favorites I'll just use what I'm currently watching.

Well Olivia Dunham would probably do fine fighting Leviathans, its not too different from the weird stuff she normally deals with but it would be better if it was the badass red universe Olivia cos blue universe Olivia is a kinda soft.
The Winchesters working with Walter... that would be interesting. They would probably try to fix everything on their own or just go and kill Walternate or something.

The Doctor and Twilight Sparkle?

That....might work, in an odd way. Considering the fanbase already combines those two shows a lot. Anyways, the doctor's already in ponyville (doctor whooves :p) and I think twilight would do fine on the TARDIS, though she would probably be better as the companion type.

Game of Thrones and Community.

Jeff Winger and Tyrion maybe? It's hard to say if either really has a true main character. Jeff probably is on community but I'd say there isn't one in Game of Thrones so I just picked my favorite character.

Anyway, I think they would both fit in nicely in each other's shows. Jeff is a good talker and schemer. He would do well in the political arena.
Tyrion would just bring another dynamic to the study group. He would be capable of delivering the "Winger" speeches and would be his normal witty/hilarious self.

Don't know if the Dean would come by anymore though. Maybe he'd move to Troy...

Switch Twilight Sparkle with Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman? That's some trippy shit you got there, brother. Come to think of it, I wonder if someone has already written a fanfic about that...

Sterling Archer and either Leonard Hofstadter or Sheldon Cooper. (depending on who you classify as the main character)

oh god.

I think it would be fair to say that were Archer to swap places with Leonard, he would probably be arrested very quickly for murdering Sheldon. And probably the same thing if he swapped places with Sheldon as well, to be honest.

Sheldon is just weird enough that he might actually fit in at ISIS, bar the general sexuality there. Not sure how he'd fare with the actual spy work though. And Leonard would probably awkwardly have sex with Cheryl, go out on a mission and die.

The Doctor and BBC Sherlock Holmes.

I'm not sure what exactly would change, they both seem pretty similar.
A crossover would be amazing though

The Doctor becomes the best meth cook in the history of the world and takes over the Mexican Cartel within the first episode. By the end of the second episode, all crime in the US and Mexico would be eliminated. Third Episode: World peace.

Meanwhile, Walter White....Well, actually, he'd basically just be The Master. Minus the insanity. (Probably)

So the Doctor loses his obligation to keep the timelines in order while gaining a personal stake in how the world turns out, and Walter White gains....A TARDIS.

All-time: Swapping out Serenity's crew for SG-1... You know, both of them probably wouldn't be all that bad at the other's job. It would probably be harder for the firefly group to adjust, though. Mal and Col. O'Neill swap roles, Wash trades with Col. Mitchell as the Pilot, JayneTeal'c as the heavy fire support... This has potential.

Current: Swapping the game of thrones cast for the ponies... pretty sure all the ponies in both worlds would end up dead. You never know, though. They can apparently can be pretty dangerous when forced into a fight.

I reckon Twilight Sparkle would do good in a zombie apocolypse, she does have magic after all. I really don't know how well Rick Grimes would do in Ponyville, he's not even a pony!
