I have Zico Chain's (New age punk band) logo, a kind of odd tribal, interlinked Z - C on my left arm.
Got it because they were the very first band I saw at my first festival, the first of now hundreds. It's not that great and I don't love the band but it mean something to me and that's the main thing.

I want to have more but it's thinking of something personal and meaningful. It'd probably be gaming related as that is my life's passion, before music, but I don't want anything tacky or generic.

I love tattoos, I plan on getting one when older.
I dislike some people are saying about getting a tattoo in Latin or Chinese. If that's not your country of origin, why? Using Latin unless you are somebody that studies langauge or something comes across as sort of pretentious to me. I had to convince my friend not to put latin in his yearbook quote... he didn't even know what to say, it was pretentious latin for the the sake of pretentious latin.

Always get a touch weirded out when I hear people speaking sense- getting kanji or sanskrit is just pretentious and ultimately meaningless, its just words, a different language doesnt make it any deeper.
A tattoo is permanent and so should be as meaningful and personal as you can manage, its not something you get on the spot "because its cool".
Anyhoo rant over.

I have a half sleeve and a few others dotted around
My half sleeve is a pirate ship, shark, message in a bottle, storm clouds and Japanese waves:

I also have Jack Sparrow's swallow tattoo on my chest. It's not great but it was my first one:

And I have the Crest of Hyrule on my left shoulderblade but don't have any pics of it...

I'll eventually get my sleeve fully extended to my wrist and get another on my right arm, as well as lots more on my legs, chest etc.
I have loads and loads of ideas but no money at the moment
I'm getting a banner over the shoulder of my sleeve with lyrics by Every Time I Die, just not sure which lyrics yet... they're all golden

I got this done 5 years ago when I decided to go back and learn something I was passionate about and it was to symbolise going back to college after working for three years.
I studied music at college and then managed to cheap ride my way through uni and I now have the qualifications to start my dream job of lecturing in music studio practice and tech. Whenever I look down at this I think of the pre-tattoo'd me who felt stuck in a shitty job with no cash and no prospects.

It symbolises self-belief and reinvention for me.

I'm getting a Russian nautical star on my right knee the moment the I turn 18 next year and I have forever young in script on my ribs, though I dont have a picture of it. I'm also planning on getting an upside down crucifix on my chest.

Thats just the ones I have planned, I intend to get loads of tattoos, everywhere but my hands, neck, forearms and face.

I have 6 tattoos - I have the Portal logo, Hello Kitty dressed up in Army gear both on one arm, Flowers on my other arm, a chest piece, And stars on both hands.

Not the best photo quality of them and makes them look a bit poo but whatever.

I don't have any of the starts on my hands.

Always fancied the idea of a Halo or Bungie-related tattoo, though I don't think I'd ever get one. Maybe like an S-117 at the base of my neck or something...

I have none, and plan on never getting any. I may convert to Judaism later in life, you never know.
I don't mean to sound like a dick but wtf does your theoretical religious stance in the future have to do with getting a tattoo or not, I mean I do know some religions frown on tats and some encourage/enforce them(though admittedly the enforced ones are manhood ceremonies in certain tribes)
If you have a tattoo you cannot be buried in a Jewish cemetery. If I was dead and Jewish that would be upsetting to my family. There are of course exceptions made for survivors of the Shoah because the tattoos were forcibly applied. Fun Fact: Tom Arnold celebrated his conversion to Judaism by getting a tattoo of the Star of David. Anyway I like to keep my options open.

I don't have anything yet but if I do get something i'm considering getting something like this

but with something more intricate like this or some of my own that i've been drawing up.

I've always wanted tattoos but i've had a lot of trouble coming up with idea's since I want them to mean something to me but I care about so little. Not really the kinda person to have "family" or the southern cross or some crap like that. Worried that the above might be a bit public though so will have to survey employers to see if it would be an issue.

My mate has a Halo 3 symbol. (The 3 inside a halo style ring) He said it was to symbolise his girlfriend, son and himself. I know he just loves Halo and made up a lie for people who can't accept that. He also has Jack Skellington and some other thing which I can't remember.
Tattoo's don't need to mean anything.

I have considered the prospect, and I like the idea. There's just nothing that I want tattooed on me. It's silly but my dad would be pissed off if I had a tattoo in his honour, I have an unnatural dislike for people tattooing their partner's name on them.
It's the closest that I come to any form of superstition, I feel like it jynxes the relationship to fail.
Beyond my father and partner there's nothing in my life yet that I feel needs to be permanently tattooed onto my skin.

I would consider a Rod of Asclepius when I'm finished medicine, or a Rising Sun if I end up joining the defence force.

If my family had a crest I'd consider it but if my family were the type to have a crest, we'd be the type to know about it.

I don't much like tattoos. The best thing I've ever heard about tattoos that describes the way I feel about them is this: Tattoos are permanent marks that represent temporary feelings.

Also, tattoos that have the names of people you are in a relationship with are completely retarded. Less than a year ago, a cousin of mine got the last name of her boyfriend (and the father of her child) tattooed on her side along the ribcage. From the moment I saw it, I just KNEW she was going to regret that later. She even got it all decked out with stars and whatnot over time.

But surely enough, just a couple weeks ago they went from engaged to an open relationship to single. And now she is with another guy, whose last name is not the same as her former betrothed. So now it is taking all of my willpower to not pop on Facebook and ask her what she's going to do with that tattoo. Or, if she comes crawling back asking who knows a cheap tattoo removal place, to not say "Well, this is a surprise. I didn't see this one coming from miles away. Did anyone else?"

That's what I'm planning on getting once I also finish Med. Might get it after this year (4th) once I know I've passed, as at my university you actually can't fail the 5th year. Also kudos for not wanting a Cadeucus, so many people make that mistake.

That said what would be awesome but I'd never actually get would be "DO NO HARM" on my knuckles. Though I might get "Primum non nocere" somewhere as well.

A sweet idea I also heard of was getting part of the Edwin Smith Papyrus (the worlds first scientific medical paper).

I am in the camp that thinks tattoos are great even when they have no meaning.

I have a full sleeve tribal tattoo and even though I have had it for about 4 years, I still look at it and think "fuck, that is awesome".

Some people who get tattoos as symbolism actually kind of annoy me, although I probably annoy them aswell. Especially the ones who force meaning into there tattoo as a way to defend themselvs from "teh haterz".

I don't feel shame or whatever for getting a massive piece of permanent ink up my arm. Yes, I am going to get more and I am going to love every second of it.

I love getting tattooed, my mind goes totally blank and it's just nice to be in that state, the pain is quite a kick aswell.

Just talking about tattoos makes me want to go and get another ...
