I have no problem with hats being rewarded for completing certain objectives or participating in certain events.

I also have no problem with Valve recognizing this as a potential revenue stream and selling hats in addition to rewarding them.

I however am quite happy to keep my cash in my wallet, but if someone else wants to burn $5 on a virtual hat I won't get in their way.

People buying keys at $2.50 to trade for a hat (mann co store is overpriced for hats), or just crafting is fine.

Why people spend money in triple digits for Sam & Max sets and unusuals is far beyond me.

I can't bring myself to play Tf2 since all the hat updates. With the recent hatless update I'm tempted to come back to play again after almost a year.

All that meant is that there were no hats in the update. There are still hats and no cvar to remove them client side.

Hats really aren't a big deal. It's just a joke. You know how Valve fans are with never letting memes die.
