Team fortress 2 Problems

Whenever I try to play team fortress 2 on my computer it keeps saying verifying files and then when it finally finishes "Verifying" the files it say download starting and it starts verifying the files again can anybody help (I'm a mostly console gamer so I'm using a mac to play this if that helps)

Do steam games even work on a Mac?

The ones listed as "Steamplay" do. Valve have most of their recent games working on there and there's some other games that work on there as well, most notably, independant games.

i remember seeing (on steam) that tf2 should have converted over to mac as well as windows... but im not quite sure what the problem is, your probably better off asking on the steam website, a quick google search should do the trick.

Verifying files usually means that something is missing from the game folder. The fact it's happening constantly could be a number of things such as:
Your computer is automatically deleting the required file as soon as it downloads
Steam servers are currently too busy to download the file (I've been getting this the last few days because of the sale that's on - people mob Steam)
Pathfinding problem.

Best off asking on Steam forums or doing a full reinstall of the game in the hope that works.
