So I just thought of something: Will the Mac players be getting a new hat for the fact they purchased the Mac-version? (Those earbuds on the Scout, Heavy, and Demoman are hinting that in my eyes.)

They better make the mac users go to different servers!!
Nope. [http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=3578&p=1]

"Q: Hmm, that all sounds pretty good. But I'll bet I can't play with my friends who own Macs if I'm on my PC.
A: Mac and PC users will all play together, on the same servers. We're not creating two separate universes. We're all going to be one big, happy family with guns locked in a bloody, never-ending struggle for cap points."

Oh god....now I'll have to deal with even more noobs when I'm surfing, prop hunting, and just whatever, so basically just the mods, I'm sure it will be fine in normal games

And now I know what me and my friends will be doing for the rest of vacation. I was hoping this would be available when Steam first came out for Mac. So excited :D

Oh and for all the people complaining: Mac gamers are gamers too. Some of us pick up on games quite quickly so you won't have to worry about "mac noobs" and some people dual boot macs and have had Steam for a while. So you will have veterans rejoining now that their computer of choice is gaining their game of choice. Also, Macs can right click. Mac mice also have two buttons. The "macs have one button" jokes are as lame and trite as the "canadians get milk from bags" jokes, and I'm not even canadian.

Oh, PLEASE put them on the same servers.

Gentlemen?
They are going to be on the same servers. There was this great comic about mac vs pc in TF2, "You will be on offence, I will be on defense..." but I can't seem to find it now.

Oh I can do you one better, I bet you this weekend, or possibly the one after it if tommorrow starts the engineer update, will be a free weekend to try and get as many Mac users hooked as they can. Just think of the wave of new Mac players that'll wash into all the servers.

My older brother used to play on his desktop PC, but due to moving about so much he spends more time with his Mac Laptop these days, and he's quite looking forward to getting back into TF2. Not all Mac users will be utter noobs, as some - like my brother - will have already played it on the PC (and the 360 as well, come to think of it).

But I would hazard a guess that most will be shit.

They're announcing that the Team Fortress IP is being sold to Activision.
*begins to prepare for the end of the world*

OT: I really hope this means TF2 is coming out for Mac because I own one and it is nice to be able to use it to play actually games like Half Life 2 now. My complaint lies in that The Orange Box was being sold on Mac for $21 and I bought it only to find it didn't include TF2 and it seems like I'll have to pay for it on its own.

How will mac user play with one button?
Solution: Buy a mouse. I just did that for playing HL2 and Portal and it works fine.

Edit: 300 Posts!!! I know its not that much of an Achievement, but hey, I can celebrate.

If we are going to have to share servers with them, at least tell us when someone is playing on a Mac so that we can kick them.
What's wrong with Mac users. I own a Mac as a laptop and my Home Computer that runs Windows is to old to play anything my technologically advanced than KOTOR. Therefore, I mainly play console, however getting a chance for PC gaming is fun. Not everyone who owns a Mac is incompetent in terms of playing games.

What's with all the Mac hate? As a child of people in the graphics industry, I was really grateful when I was little for people like Blizzard who developed for the Mac. I really wasn't able to play PC games until I was old enough to buy my own computer, about 10 years ago.

Granted, the difference between mac and pc now is little more then an intolerable OS and a couple of hundreds of dollars...but what if people don't have a choice as I did as a child? Do we want them to miss out on great games like TF2?

My little sister only has access to the Mac in the house, and I was very happy to install portal for her. She'll get a chance to play something beyond those godforsaken facefuck games.
