My first class was heavy and it isn't my favorite now. My favorites are a tie between soldier and pyro because they have good damage output and decent mobility and I can set people on fire.

First played Scout, and thats now my most played and favourite class. But I also love playing Heavy too. I love playing the "extreme" classes, as in, the Scout is extremely fast but is extremely soft while the Heavy is extremely hard but extremely slow. Middle ground classes just dont do it for me.

The reason why Scout is more played than Heavy though, is that when I play Heavy I top the scoreboard with minimal effort and it feels like cheating. Although, I have also topped the scoreboard as scout using only my Server-Clearing Strange Sandman. I play TF2 too much.

On a related note, I've decided to start playing TF2 on PC now after playing on the 360 for a long while (yes, people still play it), but I'm not sure where to start server-wise. I just want one where nobody minds that I suck at the game since I'm not used to playing on PC.
Check out the Fugworld servers. Decent community, fun maps, and catering to all skill levels.

I used to do a lot of Soldier and Spy. Then I felt Soldier was too sluggish, and Spy just wasn't that satisfying anymore. I still was rather okay at them, I still switch to Soldier sometimes and rock The Original.

Now, I main Gas Jockey Pyro (crit flares and reflected rockets EVERYWHERE!) and Loch-n-Load Demoknight. On average, a life with either class can assure me at least five kills.

Began playing as an Engineer, mostly out of the desire to support my team mates rather than directly fighting other people.

It was pretty fun when TF2 first came out, back when everyone sucked, no one knew how to fight sentries, and not a single spy was capable of stab n' saps. One sentry gun could get me at least 3 dominations before the game ended. That changed rather quickly though...

My favorite class quickly became Demoman, and it still is. As much as I love supporting my team, keeping them stocked up on ammo and covering their backs with a sentry, I love indiscriminately exploding the bejeezus out of everything in sight. Including myself.

My 2nd favorite would probably be pyro. I love airblasts, axtinguishing, and roasting spies to death (Especially Dead ringer spies, my favorite kind to kill. Fuck 'em.)

I love playing all the classes though. I'm definitely better with some than others (I'm good at being a Demoman, horrible at being a scout) but I will still play each class, as they're all fun and have their uses. I think I have a firm grasp on how each class operates and can be reasonably effective with each class.
I probably have around 400 hours as a Demoman, so I try to stay away from this class and rack up some time on others. Unfortunately, this class is usually empty on the servers I play on and there are usually things that need exploding so... :\

I started as Medic. I figured the first thing I should do is learn the map layout, and medic gives you a good chance to follow other people and learn what tactics work.

Eventually I settled on pyro. Once you get good with it, the flare gun is hilarious to use on enemy snipers.

I first played a Spy, but I was absolutely shit with them. So I switched to Heavy and Pyro for a year, then I got the Cloak and Dagger and Your Eternal Reward, so I decided to try out the Spy again, and then it became my favourite class

I played Pyro religiously for a long time. Then I realized I was a terrible pyro. I mostly play medic now, which is by faaaaaaaar my favorite class. Spy is my least favorite class. Too many hotkeys D:

If you actually know how the game works you're unlikely to get insulted on most servers, as they're hardly havens of great play. I like to play 24/7 servers (always same map), but each to their own. Valve's own servers might be a place to start.
Alright, I guess I'll start on the official Valve servers.

I do have another question. Does The Escapist have its own TF2 server that's still generally active?
It has it's own TF2 server, but it's rarely active...
You can always join it and then ask people in the TF2 group to come join you.

First played the Medic, and it's definitely my favourite (well, joint with the Pyro). I generally feel that the healer classes in games tend to call for more improvisation and strategic choices than the other classes. You've really got to keep your head above water, and be aware of the rest of your team.

Heavy, I think. And no, it wasn't.

I'm really bad at the game, so I generally just play a medic to help out the better players.

Started with Soldier, I'm not good at online shooters, and it worked out not too horribly.

My two favourite classes are Spy and Engineer. I like being sneaky as the spy, and Engineer... well... shotgun... awesome sentries... it's a great class.

I think I might have chosen the Demoman first and rocked that for a while. The last time I played TF2 (it's been forever) I mostly played as either the pyro or medic.

First time I ever played TF2 it was the Pyro on Granary. Oh how I could watch the people burn. On my own personal tangent, I used to HATE the demo with a fiery passion. I couldn't use him at all and I never played him. I don't remember when the breakthrough was, but I eventually got really good at connecting with the grenades and I can dominate almost every class with stickies. The Demoman is almost my most played class now.

My first class was pyro, partly because I liked the concept, partly to annoy someone I was playing with.

By this point, I don't think I have a favorite. I'll play anything, though I do play Pyro more often than Demoman or Scout.

Started as a soldier, seemed simple. I fucking hate the Soldier. Too loud, too slow, rockets are inaccurate and slow, has no melee weapon that suits me. Oh no, I went Spy short after, and it's been my favourite class since.

The first class I played was Heavy, and I haven't looked back.

Nothing beats mowing down everything in my path while having this sexy beast on me at all times. [http://www.tf2items.com/item/701741300]
