I'm just wondering how Gohan is going to be like when he goes SSJ2?

We saw how he can be when he loses his temper before he gained the ability to go SSJ.

But will those outbursts be like popcaps in the face of the nuclear explosion that might happen when 16 gets blown up?

Or will he turn into a sayian version of his mother?

Love the Canadian subtitles.

Bulma is equally a terrible parent, pretty much all parental figures are horrible in the abridged.
Really because with the exception of bringing baby Trunks to the Gero fight I think that Bulma is a okay parent.

Also for anyone who was annoyed with Mr Satan, the Canadian subtitles agree with your feelings and I highly recommend you check them out.
As she is portrayed in the abridged, she is an overbearing, dominating, control freak of a woman, who when challenged on even things as simple as what books he will read, she blows her top and starts yelling and throwing things. She's a classic unhinged parent, who blows up at the drop of a hat. Her son lives in fear of her through most of the series up through the Namek stuff. Sure, usually her insanity and manipulation is directed at Goku, but Gohan gets it too. She's already planned out his life, whether or not he wants to live that life, and if he, or anyone else pushed against that plan, she lost her shit. I haven't seen that as much now, but then we've also rarely seen her at all after the first few seasons. Maybe she's more reasonable in the actual tv show, but the abridged, she's fucking nuts.
I think you are confusing Bulma with Chichi, Bulma is the one with blue hair

I like it, Cell was my favorite villain when I watched it as a child, for me it all went down hill after him and I stopped watching half way through the Buu part.

My only complaint is I remember hating Hercule as a kid and was hoping they would do something else with Mr Satan in the abridged but as far as my memory goes he isn't really any different from the original version. I just wish they had given him an interesting new take on the character that makes him somewhat more bearable.

Ah, you are correct, the thrust of that quoted point of mine was mostly ChiChi, though in my initial post, I did state they were both bad parents. But I also pointed out that ALL of the parental figures in the Abridged, are portrayed as being terrible parents to some degree or another.

But Bulma does not get out of this clean. Remember she brings her child in her aircar that gets blown out of the sky. When she was confronted with the fact that she brought a BABY into a potential combat zone, she couldn't care less. When she was being flown away by the fat guy with the sword (don't recall his name), again, they point out that she is dangling a baby below her in the air, thousands of feet above the ground. And again, she doesn't care. She even sounds bored with the questions. While she isn't as overtly oppressive as Chichi, she clearly doesn't seem to give much of a shit about the overall safety of her child. She is shown, multiple times in the Abridged, to just not really give a shit, to the point that other people have to loudly point out that what she is doing, are some horrible parenting decisions. Perhaps she's indifferent because she's already met her adult child, so she knows he survives, but that doesn't really excuse indifferent parenting in my book. It also doesn't mean she couldn't treat him better, and perhaps curtail some of his emotional baggage when he grows up.

Ehh, I chalk it up to the casual indifference you'd get to death when most of your friend group's already died and getting a resurrection involves, at most, a busy afternoon. I mean, she wasn't particularly concerned about herself getting blown up in that air car either.

One thing I think is going to be a problem is how heavily they're leaning into the "Goku is a bad dad" angle. I mean yeah, that meme has been around forever, but TFS has been doing a lot to popularise it, when really we're only just now getting to the point where Goku's parenting issues rear their head.

Knowing how it's all going to go, the question is how they're going to get this version of Gohan who's hated his father since he was five, to the Father-Son Kamehameha. Not to mention the Buu saga, where young adult Gohan has nothing but hero worship for his dead old man. You can change dialogue and facial expressions TFS, but you can't change him choosing to go into the battle wearing the orange gi. I hope they've got a plan these next few episodes to turn the daddy-issues ship around.
I've never gotten the impression that TFS Gohan "hates" his father.
I take it you haven't watched those "Goku is gonna show you" lets play?

OT- Meh, it was ok. I liked that they added the bit with Videl at the end just to spark some interest between the two pior to their teenagers time period.

I've watched a few of them, but if I don't find the game interesting, I don't tend to watch Let's Plays for long. Plus, I don't really take that stuff as canon for the storyline, and more of an adlib bit of alternate content.

True, but the question isn't her own self preservation, it's her parenting skills. And she's not a very good mother. I mean, I get that most of them are blase about death, but they still get upset when the parents clearly do shit that is dangerous for the child. And every time, she hasn't cared.

I'm kind of losing interest with the show. The episodes haven't been as funny lately and a 10-15 minute episode every couple months just isn't enough to keep my enthusiasm up. I mean at this point DBZA has been going on for 2 years longer than the initial run of the original 291 episodes of DBZ.

I'm not a fan of the endorsement of drug use either.
