In all my years of gaming, fighters have been one of the genres that I've always enjoyed, and Tekken was never an exception... that is until the PS2 days. During it's hay-day on the PSX, I enjoyed the first three games quite a lot, but after a while it just started feeling stale. Here I am 4 games later and it feels like I'm still playing the first game but with better graphics. Characters seemed to have little variety (compared to the likes of Soul Calibur or Virtua Fighter where each character is like learning a completely different game), and it was hard to get into it enough to know whether or not the developers put any balance into it.
So I have to ask, now that it's upto what I believe is the 5th installment, what is Tekken's appeal these days? For those who are still playing the game: What keeps you coming back?
