I recently got a 23 inch Technika 1080p television for Christmas and also want to use it as my pc monitor. I have connected it to my tv with a HDMi cable so it automatically chooses the native resolution but it does not look clear. The writing is squashed together and it appears blurry.

I have also tried connecting through a VGA cable and manually chosen different resolutions but none look clear either. Can anyone advise me on what to do?

If it's 1080p tv I'm assuming that's the native resolution, it sounds like your computer is not set to 1920x1080. Are you sure that's what it is set to? I'm not sure why else it would be blurry and "squashed together". Also, is it just the text that's blurry or is everything a little blurry?

Do you have more than one HDMI slot on the TV?

Try another of the slots. For some reason some TVs wont get native resolution on all slots. Its weird, and I know Samsung have this, where slot 2 is the PC slot, and Slot 1 will give cropped images.

Everthing is a little blurred but it's mainly the text, some of it is actually undreadable.
I definately have it set to the native resolution.
I only have one HDMi slot and I have tried with a VGA cable aswell and still have the same problem.
I also tried updating my drivers but they're all up to date.

Do you run Windows7?

Yes?

Good.

Right click your desk top and choose "Personalize"

On the left menu you will click "Display"
In the new Screen there is something called "Adjust ClearType Text"

Use that, it lets you adjust the text on your monitor.
Enjoy!

Not using Windows 7?
To bad for you.
Solution: Get Windows7 it rocks!
