Pockies are kinda terrible. Like low-grade hershey's "chocolate" dipped on a pretzel stick. Mikado is the same as Pocky however it uses real chocolate instead of "chocolate".

Whenever I think something from Japan is cool I realise how much more practical the equivalent is here. Bento lunches take far longer to make than sandwiches and a packet of crisps.

You buy bread in a shop ready made and sliced but to make a sushi you need to actually cook that rice after washing it 5 times over and leave it to dry.

You forgot the chopsticks. Talk about being stubborn, huh?

That's just the regular flavor, though. There are tons of others.

I know, I've tried them. They're inferior and the only reason I could give for someone preferring them to Mikado is for the weaboo factor. Most of the flavours of pocky are available in actual form with Mikado. There are even some good ones like Da'im which you might have tried if you've been to an IKEA.

Hell even at their best Pocky as a concept aren't even that good.

I wouldn't know about the Mikado, my initial reaction would be no. I'm not sure how well known Da'im is though that's one of the few places I've seen them.

Here in Sweden, everybody knows about Daim. But I haven't seen Daim Mikado here. I was at IKEA last week, and they didn't have them. Gosh darn it.

Remember when that earthquake happened? And then the tsunami that occured after it? And the nuclear reactor that nearly went all to hell in the ensuing chaos? Then, remember when the Japanese people, who were battered, scared and devastated, managed to pull together and have a silent moment for those who died during the aftermath and that the people who found things like safes and other people's prized belongings turned them over to the authorities so that their rightful owners might reclaim them?

Remember that?

Say all of the crazy things they do and have done and post pics, vids and memes of all of the crazy stuff they've done; at the end of the day, you won't find a bunch of honorable, hardy and kind people on this planet, IMHO. That, my friends, is awesomeness personified. They get my fullest and utmost respect. And the occasional facepalm for the considerably wackier things.

Yes, YES, that is indeed it.

Like I said, even if I can't read it, I'll find a way. Maybe that crazy old international converter guy in Johnson City is still open, he seemed to be able to do when I toyed with his copy in the store...
I THINK this is it - I had to snip away something massive. I'd suggest an emulator [http://www.emuparadise.me/Sega_Saturn_ISOs/Blue_Seed_-_Kushinada_Hirokuden_(J)/53948] then, that's how I got to play Golden Sun even though I couldn't find a copy for sale in Sweden. A bit clunky, but... :D Worth a shot, no?

OT: The most insane thing I've watched to date.

It's just another country. I've been there, it has its quirks but is otherwise a fairly normal place. Bustling cities, boring countryside, good food when you find the smaller restaurants. It's also the place where I learned that cow tongue is delicious, and that there are different strengths of sake.

Though I will say, the area of Tokyo where they were selling spools of fiber optic cable and had women in maid outfits screaming into microphones was very strange. Everywhere else it was just normal people. Most people we actually had to interact with were also very polite.

Their subway system was nice and easy to navigate, it had everything written in English as well, so as long as you knew the name of the station you were fine. The 7-11's were also neat, as they didn't card you and had a bakery section. Beer, pastries, and candy all in one go!

Then again, I was only there 2 weeks with my family, with my brother (who was spending a year there) acting as a tour guide. But it was far from the magical land of...magic or whatever that all the Japanophiles at the "nerd table" I've talked too say it is. It's just another developed nation doing its own thing.

For the sake of variation, I'mma throw up artist, Takato Yamamoto:

Despite having a fondness for throwing random genitalia in his work (similar to HR Giger) I'm a huge fan, so much so that I used his designs as the basis for my sleeve:

(Please excuse my fat belly in the photo.)

The tattoo or the other picture? Either way, I'm glad you agree.

The tattoo. I'm usually not a tattoo fan, but that one's really cool.
