The amount of iron you digest throughout your entire lifetime, is enough to build the frame of a small child's bike.

On average, throughout a normal humans life spam, you DO INDEED swallow 5-8 spiders in your sleep.

The dot over the stick the the letter "i" (and maybe j) is called a "Tittle"

I do not know about apple seeds, but almonds contain a relatively high amount of hydrogen cyanide, although you'd probably throw up before ingesting a lethal dosis.

What people are that?

On topic: The reason certain types of plants contain cyanide is because (If I remember my learnings correctly) it is used in the process of 'deciding' how high the plant should grow. I can't for the life of me remember the correct term, but essentially the plant grows away merrily until it reaches a point where it would be unfeasible to grow taller (It may be unable to support itself, or it simply doesn't need to to contend with local competition), at which point the levels of natural cyanide are increased until the top of the tree dies (At a cellular level).

I will edit if I recall the name of the process.

let's see, useless information....

If you shave a siamese cat and keep it in a fridge until it's fur has grown back then it will grow back all black. I can explain why if anybody cares

Hmmm, to all those who brag about insomnia: Lack of sleep for 10 days is lethal, and the number can be as low as 7 if you're unfit or have medical conditions.

Co2 has no liquid phase.

Russia created the most powerful nuclear weapon the world has ever seen.

And considering that this is a gaming site: Command and conquer 4 was never made! [small] that game was not part of the series, I swear it...[/small]

not everything times zero equals zero. here are some random cases where math is broken

∞ * 0 ≠ 0

∞/∞ ≠ 1

∞-∞ ≠ 0

1[sup]∞[/sup] ≠ 1
This is wrong on so many levels, infinity is a concept not a number and as such it cannot be used in the same way as a number. You can say a variable tends to infinity and use that, for example as x tends to infinity x/x = 1 1^x = 1 x*0 = 0 x-x = 0 to find actual solutions to each of the equations. Maths only breaks when your doing something wrong.

Cracking your knuckles doesn't cause arthritis, a man won a Nobel for cracking one hand and not the other and proving it.

There were designs for a computer one hundred years before the first computer was released, but because of lack of funding and political interest, it was never made. We're one hundred years behind technologically because of it.

Peter Parker was very nearly molested as a child, the story was told after he heard his neighbor being molested by his babysitter and went over as Spider-man to tell the kid how he told his aunt before the creepy old man took it any further.

Iron Man currently has a suit that acts like a technological version of Carnage. Thinking of it in terms most people would understand, Carnage is the bad Terminator from T2, the liquid-metal one, and Iron Man is the Terminator from T3, shapeshifting to make energy projectile weapons along with the blades. Anyone who reads the book and read Iron Man/Thor on free comic book day would know this, but it still makes me happy.

Super Hero Squad was in the works before Disney bought Marvel. Would everyone stop bitching about Disney ruining Marvel with it, because I've actually seen nothing but positives with the whole ordeal.

That's all I can think of right now. I'm sure you didn't know at least one of those things.

the model of which the united states are organised came from the Netherlands.
The old Netherlands(De Republiek der Nederlanden) existed from 7 different provinces or 'states' working together. Since it worked awesome for a while in holland(golden century and such), they copied en changed it into the current United States of America.
There's a fact i was pretty shocked by at history class:p

You on about the Charles Babbage Analytical Machine?
I wouldn't necessarily say we are 100 years behind, I highly doubt it would have sped up the creation of the transistor, if you mean 100 years behind computationally.

Once you reach 11,004 posts, the Escapist servers eat your soul and use that to fuel your next 20,000 posts. They automatically ban you if you pass 35029 because that's when the soul runs out of energy.

Also, In Canada, milk comes in bags.
