I'm not going to crack out my opinion on this, as I'm pretty shambolic when it comes to that kinda thing considering i'm new here.

So yeah, I kinda wanna get a feel for this game from the community. Yay or nay for a concept? Would you rather see the Borderlands games as violent looty tongue in cheek games only? Does the concept of using Telltales style of narrative appeal to y'all for this universe?

I like the setting, and I wish it hadn't been 'wasted' on games that you need more than one player to properly enjoy.

I wouldn't have gone with an adventure game, but hey it might be good.

I am thoroughly apathetic towards Borderlands.

I fucking love me some Telltale though. Or rather, I love their recent stuff. Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us. I have not played their older comedic stuff and have no interest in doing so.

So I suppose my interest in this spin-off thingy will come down to what kind of tone they end up going for.
Serious and grounded - Count me in, day one purchase.
Wacky OMG-so-random lololol comedy - Meh. Maybe buy it on sale if I hear good things.

Given the nature of the Borderlands games, the latter seems more likely.

Genocidicles sums up my opinion on Borderlands. They should have stuck with the original idea of realistic graphics and that the other three characters are AI.

But for Telltales' game, I'm looking forward to it. They found a good medium between point-n-click and action with The Walking Dead S2 and The Wolf Among Us and I can't wait to see how that transfers into Borderlands. I'm really excited to see where this game goes and will be keeping my eye on it.

Well since Gearbox will never put a decent story together it might as well be Telltale to give it a shot, that being said however these QTE cut-scene games I just can't stomach, at best I'll watch a walkthrough.

On one hand, an intentionally over-the-top shoot-em-up series moving to rely purely on narrative makes me wonder where they plan to go with it. On the other hand, Telltale has already made me more interested in their last few spin-offs than I am with the actual source material, so they're capable of expanding on things.

I'll wait and see. Hoping they can have a sense of humor without making the whole season a violent slapstick.

Let them have a go at it, I like Borderlands but I'm not fanatically devoted to the core concept of shooting and looting in the first person. It'd be a shame to lose the co-op though because that's the best part in the game.

I love borderlands, and I like telltale alot. I am really excited for this, too. But really, before I see actual gameplay, I am a little iffy.I mean, how do you transform something like Borderlands into a point and click?

It seems like a good opportunity, given the potential for more Borderlands games, to start building up the universe and lay some important plot points down on the table. World-building like this goes hand-in-hand with Telltale's ability to tell stories without sacrificing the characters, the world, or the player's interest. Not to mention the art styles really click together.

I'm actually looking forward to it. Most people think of Borderlands as over-the-top and goofy, but it has the potential to be a lot more serious. At least from the teaser trailer it looks like they could have something good going. At the very least, it'll be good to have some more story in Borderlands beyond 'there's a vault with a thing guarding the vault, please kill it and get to the vault.' BL2 was a leap in the right direction in that regard.

And if it's not good in the end, we can say that it's not part of the main series anyway.

I'm not expecting much, but if it means we get a lot more Tiny Tina dialogue, I'm all for it. Maybe even play as her hanging out with Moxxi and Mr. Torque. God, I hope they don't try to make it all serious. Borderlands 2 went too serious for my tastes later on. All melodrama and people shouting; not enough Tina.

I love Borderlands.

Mainly Borderlands 2, but the series as a whole I love to bits. I haven't played it as much as I'd like to, mainly because the dude I was playing with pulled a Houdini and I haven't touched it in months, but that's not the point. The point is that I would play the hell out of the spin-off.

Telltale has sold me on what they can do with The Walking Dead, so I'm totally fine with them doing BL. Not really sure how an FPS can be turned into a point and click, but I'm sure we'll find out eventually. This one will probably be more serious, but that's fine with me since there was a lot of fucked up things going on in Borderlands that they never really explained. Like, anything involving Dr. Tannis.

Considering that I am playing Borderlands 2 at the moment and still liking it for the most part and given Telltales being great at making Adventure games, I think they will pull it off but I think it will be weird to have the game not revolve around loot guns.

Flipping heck, are you me? I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said. Like yourself, I'm having an absolute blast with Walking Dead Season 2 and Wolf - Sam and Max on the other hand; played the demo, didn't crack a smile once, deleted it.

Right now you couldn't pay me to play a Borderlands game. But given the Telltale treatment? Colour me a little intrigued. With the existing cel-shaded aesthetic it'd fit right in with the Telltale engine.

captcha: I love deadlines. For the lovely "whoosh" sound they make as they pass, I presume?

I feel like a story-centric borderlands game is er... sort of removed from anything notably good about borderlands.

Not too excited about the whole telltale side of it either. Granted I've only played 1 part of walking dead and thoroughly did not enjoy it. Though if I were to give telltale a second chance it would probably be wolf among us rather than this.

Never played a Telltale game in my life, but it'd certainly be an interesting chance to expand the universe and tell more stories. Perhaps about the two Sirens left unknown? It's established that only 6 Sirens can exist in the universe, and we already know four of them (Lilith, Maya, Angel and Steele), so that could be an interesting choice.

Or they could just make a whacky point and click adventure in the style of Sam & Max with Claptrap, Tiny Tina and Mister Torgue. I would love to see more of them. The writing on Borderlands 2 is downright hilarious, especially the DLC expansions.
