I'm a lover of tactically-intensive, slow games (1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 10), and conversely, instant gratification (2, 8, 9). Half-Life is between, but its pacing and execution won me over. It's directed better than most action flicks and doesn't involve stupid one-liners.

I know what you mean. I mean, just going over other people's choices, I realize how many games I left off my list as well. I could have easily had a Top 100 list. But that would have made for a lot more counting.
