For some bizarre reason, Campaign. Something about people referring to the single player aspect of a game with that word really bothers me, and I have no idea why.

Pretty much all the weird internet speak, like 733t (how do you do "t"?), n00b, haxx0r, and all that ja22 (no! I've been infected!). It amazes me of some people's inability to speak, or type, English, or whatever their native language happens to be.

Also, FTW. It doesn't mean anything!
FTW = for the win. It's stupid.

I swear, when the English language reverts to Paleolithic grunting, we will have this to thank for it.

I played Halo 3 with one fanboy and his GT was "E1337 Spartan". It was even funnier when he was one of the worst players in the game XD

/fail
I love it when people have really show boaty (?) GT's, and then they turn out to be teh suck.
Names like 'sn1p3rpr0' and 'killuextreme' (made them up) I love to beat, and often go out of my way to do so...
Gaming terms I hate...
Well I dislike when people refer to enemy players and 'bogies' or 'tangos'
Unless your a real military person, it just sounds stupid...

Occasionally I'll say "take point", but any other military jargon I may use is total BS because I may be in a good mood.

Gamertags similar to that of xXL33TSNIPAEPICDRAGOONXx

Or the disclaimer at the beginning of Assassins Creed.

Oh yes, these people do exist. They also use el oh el instead of "lol" and I can tell you, I would pay fortunes for remote strangulation device whenever I meet one.

I'd like to see people that think they can speak "leet" speak in binary... if they can; I would be impressed and agree that they can speak "leet".

Message me whenever you find one of these devices ... And I shall pay half of the fortune ...
Then you can strangle them some more for me.

Rape... i hate when my friends are describing how they were playing Call of Duty by saying that they raped the other team... Really guys? You bent them over in the middle of the match and raped them? That must've been uncomfortable for both parties involved.
I dunno, I say raped in that context, just because it fits in a figurative sense. It's annoying when someone says it every second though. Can't you think of another word to use? Annihilated sounds way cooler. So does decimated.
Yes but I'd rather not have people use it meaning winning. It sends a bad message to actual victims of rape.
and I agree, annihilated and decimated are better.
Not necessarily, to 'rape' also means to plunder or abuse, so in context it is not (or at least should not) be offensive to rape victims as it has no sexual connotation when used in this manner and no connection to the act of forcing someone into sexual acts.

I have only been online 3 days, been playing lots of Call of Duty 4 and have yet to hear one person say noob, gay, fail... etc

I did however go onto the Halo 3 multiplayer and got bored after 5 mins because everyone there seemed to be annoying american kids yelling abuse. (plus when you've been playing cod4 halo just feels a bit clunky and pink)

Megacherv...

I respect your right to despise fanboy gaming terms. And you should despise them. But the word "Splazer" is not so much a term as it is a shortened nickname. When people call the rifle grenades from Call of Duty as "Noob-tubes," it irks me, mostly because they have no correlation to each other and make no sense when taken out of context. At least Splazer retains its identity.

There's no reason really, I just know a guy who uses the term a lot, and it gets annoying.
Oh, that's fair then. Although I thought about this, and it does make me sick when some twat that doesn't know the difference between all those components goes on and on and on about his leet pwnage rig. That there is pretty obnoxious.

Kinda like my thing about EWJ I brought up earlier... it would actually be less letters to type oh my god. Also, saying oh-em-gee is slightly more clumsy than firing off OMAGAW

One thing that makes gaming feel nerdier then it should, is when kids actually say "LOL" instead of just laughing. (Comp games should at least be haha)
