Yeah that was very sly but at the same time he made a public profile on Deviant art, put his details and image on it, and provided links to it on Terraria forums, so he shouldn't be overly upset about it. And he has made it 100 times worse by making a scene, especially how he had it removed under his old companies name to try and hide it. Everyone now knows about it and wants to watch the video, but when I saw it last night it had only a few thousand views, along with all thebestgamerz other videos.Toraxa said:Did he dig up Gabe Newell's deviant art, facebook page, etc, and comment on his appearance, hobbies, etc though? The review was obnoxious, but wasn't that bad. It was obvious that he was trying hard to come up with stupid things to say. However once he started attacking people for no reason it became a problem.SICK0_ZER0 said:Awesome game. Played it fucking flat out for 3 days, shame the developer is such a *****, getting thebestgamerz satirical review taken down. These are the same guys who claimed TF2 was bad because it had 'less graphics than Call of Duty'. It wasn't a serious review and he made it far worse by getting it removed.
But yeah the game itself is very fun, miles better than Minecraft, especially the boss fights. It's not anywhere near as close to Minecraft as Minecraft is to Dwarf Fortress. It's definitely worth 6 fucking pounds, but note that it is far superior online than in single player.
At the same time, it's massive publicity. Even if he has a shit reputation online, he stands to make a load of money and has a very popular game on his hands (50,000 sales on day 1). The poetry and 'review' tantrum will be forgotten shortly, but he'll probably have long term success in the game industry now.
People pirating this game are absolutely disgraceful by the way. It's £6, will work on near any PC, and will be getting loads of updates in the near future, for example full Steam integration. Someone I know pirated it purely because 'small indie developers can't afford good lawyers'. A lot of the pirates will purchase the full game if it gets proper steam integration though, like a server browser, achievements etc.
