Ugh, right now I have to read "Wuthering Heights" for Honors Brit. Lit. Put me to sleep within two minutes while I was on the first page. Anybody ever have a similiar experience?

Bronte is a hard author to get through. Anything by Hawthrone really got me. And L'Morte d' Arthur......dear God.

Lord of the Flies was AWFUL in my opinion.

I enjoyed Animal Farm though, however others did not.

I am told that if you read the entire Twilight trilogy, it is basically the "Wuthering Heights" story in a nutshell.

...or so I'm told...

*edit* OH GOD my wife just reminded me of an even worse one. Billy Bud by Herman Melville. *shudder*

I seem to be the only one that liked Lord of the Flies.
I also loved Animal Farm.
I despised To Kill A Mockingbird.

Spies, by Michael Frayn, is the most remarkably boring book in the history of ever. And we had to do it for a whole year, and analyze crap that didn't exist except in the mind of the examiners.

TKAM wasn't that bad. How could you despise it? American classic....:p

I'm sure your teacher has told you that a dozen times by now. Lol.

Before the Twilight movie came out, I tried to read it (I like Darren Shan and Harry Potter, so I thought why not?) because, surely the book can't be THAT bad, right?

I never even finished the tripe. Wuthering Heights is mentioned though. I know that much.

One I had to read was The Time Traveller's Wife for a Higher English Essay thingy. That was terrible. Just... Terrible.

My class was forced to read the entire script for Romeo and Juliet. It makes no sense, all the characters are annoying and its boring as hell.

I'm waiting for someone to say Speak. I won't, but it'll be fairly amusing to see them go down in a sea of flames.

No argument here; I read Animal Farm when I was twelve, and I liked it a lot. I had to read Lord of the Flies last year for school, and I found it to be entertaining.

^And it's freakishly creepy as well. Animal Farm seems to be an instant classic around here as well. 1984 is another excellent Orwell title that everyone should read. And if anyone ever offers you extra credit to read City of God.....don't be an overachiever.

That's because King is the most morbid author out there. He writes some disturbing stuff.
