Damn it, if L had to die, Light should have lived! He beat his enemy. They shouldn't have dumbed him down and had some new 8 year old kid beat him! Still, he apparently becomes a shinigami, so...ultimate win, maybe?
I freaking hated Joe. I love how it was implied that he was being put to death as you ascend the ranks. Joe was doing nothing but holding you back and, blowing your cash. Good riddance.

The series finale for Rosanne. It's kind of a mindfuck and screws with a whole lot of what has been happening for, not just the last season, but multiple seasons before. Jackie and Mark?! Jackie is a lesbian instead of Rosanne's Mom?! They actually got a Sega Genesis (ok, not the last one). I really liked how DJ got such a great GF...too bad she was probably fictional. I still love the series though.
Fist of the North Star the movie (live action) was utter shit from start to finish, completely raping the plot laid down by the manga. Can't think of any others at the moment though...

You actually just reminded me! There was a live-action movie adaptation of Death-Note (or maybe a TV miniseries, re-released as a pair of films in the west). You may like it since it ends very differently than the manga and, anime. The biggest thing being a complete lack of Mellow and, Near. It's very different from the anime and manga so in that respect it's not as good but I liked it better.
Ever watched a movie that was decent/good/great/awesome but had a totally crap ending?
My one is 28 Weeks Later...... I was like "What a bunch of HORSE S**T!"
By saying that you're insulting one of my favorite movies, Brazil which Repo's ending is based on. The twist is used right when the ending is turned happy to sad instantly. SPOILARS! for 25 year old movie.
By far and away, I am Legend's ending, and the whole reworking of it both sucked and blowed, not to mention biting the big one!
Fucking butterflies and god!!!!!!!!!!!
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
The books ending was awesome, one of the best endings ever.
From wiki, the end setup from the book:
Neville goes to his prison window and gets a glimpse of all the infected milling about in the yard waiting for his execution. When they spot him, he sees the fear, awe and horror in their eyes and he understands to them he is a scourge, just as they were a scourge to him at the beginning of the novel. Previously Neville saw the destruction of the infected survivors as a right and a moral imperative to be pursued for his own and mankind's survival, but now he finally acknowledges defeat. He is the only known immune human left in the world, the only survivor of the "old race".
He glimpses a future society where infection is normal and he, Neville, is a murderous biological deviant. As he turns away and swallows the pills, Neville grasps the reversal that has taken place and that just as vampires were legend in pre-infection times now he, an obsolete exemplar of old humanity, is legend in the eyes of the new race born of the infection. As his perspective shifts Neville is able to chuckle even as he dies, his last thoughts being "[I am] a new superstition entering the unassailable fortress of forever. I am legend."
One of the worst book endings ever was Chung Kuo(The Marriage of the Living Dark, the last book), it was fucking giant immortal amnesiac alien spiders from another dimension, I mean WTF!!
The basic plot of the book(Sci-fi) was that China takes over the world and rewrites history, deliberately stagnating progress, but then it all starts to violently unravel, and at the end it turns out that it this revolution was fomented and is opposed by the above mentioned spiders which is revealed out of nowhere!
Fucking ruined the series for me, when I re-read it I stopped at book seven.
