Terrible Game Communities (League of Legends)

So anyone who plays League of Legends is probably aware that we're experiencing an especially terrible patch day. For anyone who has played a popular game that is subject to frequent patches (MMO's do this a lot) you are probably familiar with these disasters. You know, when they say the servers will be up at 1pm but don't actually go live until midnight that night? Today's one of those.

Anyway, as expected, days like this attract all of the community's trolls and they will often gather en masse to explain how they hate the company and will boycott them in the most offensive and vulgar ways possible, etc. etc. So, just a bit a go while lurking in the LoL forums (which you should never ever do, its an awful place) I found this gem:

I was utterly shocked and couldn't help but laugh at how awful it was. LoL notoriously has an incredibly hostile and trolltastic community, but this just topped anything I had seen from them thus far.

Anyway, discussion time. If not LoL, are there any other game communities you have had an awful experience with? Share stories, rant, whatever.

Yeah, but LoL has the worst community I saw ever.

But yeah, it's depressing really. I found that I can only have fun with the game if playing with RL friends, or if I solo queue, pretty much ignore everything but party tactics in chat. The forums are even worse than WoW's were back when they first introduced the "Damage Dealing" forum... that was disastrous D:

Yeah, I used to be part of Bungie.net's forums.

If you ever have a chance to go there, don't. Just don't. Its just not good. Bungie's great, but for some reason the community is just... awful. Or at least the people that post in the forums.

"My long-winded essay on why the newest hat has made TF2 unplayable."
"LOL VALVE EVIL CAPITALISTS!!!"
"XYZ is overpowered because it killed me."
"Overly-complicated and/or unoriginal weapon idea."

Et cetera, et cetera.

What is more sad is the fact that the moderators never really moderate much at all. Even the report system barely works to the point nobody uses it anymore...

Not only that, but the "Vote" system is totally broken and is used more for trolling threads than for actually assisting discussion.

The Team Fortress 2 community is great, but there are a few people who are horrible. For example, I was in my friend's server when this random guy joined and started talking about how stupid the charity hats for Japan were. His reasoning was that we should not help Japan because they didn't help us during our "disasters", by which he meant 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina.

And don't even get started on the forums...

In my experience the LoL community as always been better than that of HoN and DotA, but whatever. But I can't think of any other games with a community like this that I've played. MOBA's just bring out the worst in people I guess.

I honestly have to say the DotA community.

I just dont get those people... I have never seen a worse game community that does nothing but call one another a "Stupid nub fag who fucks his mom."
Really I just have so many awful tales of the people who play that game.

HoN is the most hostile I've seen, strictly because it's marketed as a competitive game. You found a new, fun way to play a hero (that is likely not optimal or does not fit into the meta-game)? Well too bad, cuz you're a forking noob who should stop tainting the game. It even says in the in-game tips that there is no one true way to play a hero.
