God of War III had some piss poor choices. The sex scene was appalling with the two maids simpering away and the rhythm/ music task was so out of place.
Not to mention his un-Kratos like concern for someone else(Pandora) coming from nowhere.

You knew it was coming... and call me crazy, but I actually really enjoyed the Water Temple. I still probably couldn't think of a better-designed level in any video game. It may have been frustrating, but I spent a lot of the time just marveling at the genius behind the level design.

I don't know why people complain about that when the water temple in Twilight Princess exists. Now THAT was a huge hiccup in an otherwise good game. I rather enjoyed the one in OoT.

When you break out your mother from Jack-of-Blades's prison in the original Fable. That was the only mission I would say was unfairly hard in that whole game. The rest was a joke comparitively.

The Gym-battle against Bugsy in the remakes of Pokemon: Gold, Silver and Crystal for the DS. If you weren't using a 'mon half over again of Bugsy's Scyther, you would lose. Period.

The complete lack of any form of tutorial in King's Field: the Ancient City. It would've been a passable game if it had had that.

The puzzle in Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones where you had to move the platforms Farah was standing on so that she could get to the next one. It was more about going back and forth than using any actual logic.

And speaking of backtracking, all the backtracking they made us do in the original Resident Evil. I haven't played any of the others (I know that makes me a terrible person for not having played RE4, but oh well.) but the original had about 12 hours of added gameplay from walking and fighting respawned enemies. This applies to the MGS franchise as well.

Having to PAY to do some gigs in Guitar Hero: World Tour. The whole point is that you get payed for doing them!

The levels where you were required to play as certain characters in Dark Cloud. Of the six characters that were available, only the main character, the cat-girl and the genie are any good. And by the time you have to do the first level where you HAVE to use a character, there's no way they're up to par with what you need them to be.

The final boss fight in Gears of War. I played on Casual and it was ball-breakingly hard, mostly because Dom kept getting himself killed and I had to go try to save him, which inevitably got me killed shortly thereafter. Also the fact that the AI never seems to like you enough to help you up if you're incapacitated.

Wow that was a long-ass post.

I'll list some from RPG's... why not?
- Knights of the Old Republic: Taris
So the first 3rd of the game? Fair enough.

How about all the bits of CoD World at War that weren't the Sniping Mission or Nazi Zombies. Ok thats not fair I enjoyed CoD:WaW, but I am putting down it's tank mission as the low point. Such a bad section of an otherwises pretty decent game.

Also, I LIKE the fade section. Yeah, how's that.

Okay, okay Taris wasn't completely horrible, but we can all agree it was way too long.

Resource mining in Mass Effect 2. Also the mission on board the derelict reaper. Husk spam makes me rage.
Oh god the mining, the only good thing to come out of that was the song.
But for some reason I liked the Reaper mission, hell I liked any mission were they just kept tossing husks at me, I thought it was fun burring through five guns worth of ammo, then again I like the flood levels on halo.

Because everyone else is mentioning it, the fade. Soooo damn boring.

Also the escort quests in Morrowind. They move so damn slowly!

Holy damn it you're right! Those were so terrible. The worst was in the main quest when you have to escort the Wise Woman to Sheogorath's shrine... across water... Seriously? You're bringing water into this already horrible mechanic? Kill me now.

It wasn't too bad, but the main problem is if you actually level up at all then you get fewer Jedi levels (since the level cap is 20, and you can hit 9-10 in Taris). I actually got through it once without leveling my main char at all, though that was fucking rough. At least they figured it out for the second game that most people want to be a jedi when playing a game about jedi.

I'm gonna go with the complete lack of armor in Planescape: Torment. The Nameless One tended to take tons of damage due to the fact that he never learned how to duck and thinks scars are perfectly serviceable armor, so why would you need anything else?

Redoing the Levels in Devil May Cry 4. Sure, you play as Dante, but give the guy his own levels, he deserves it!

At least she wasn't a naked barbarian. Those retards lost me hours just trying to find where they wanted me to go.

Every time I hear/read someone complain about that dungeon I want to smack the person and say "Duh, it's a dungeon. It's supposed to be frustrating!"

Forced stealth sections in games, the most obnoxious i can remember most recently was Darkest of Days, because
A. Soldiers can see you through 4 bushes while in pitch darkness.
B. When that happens, all you do is camp and shoot all the Confederates.

FF 10: Those stupid, frustrating Sphere puzzles, complete nonsense that just extended length to the game

Cod WaW: Veteran Difficulty, nothing but nade spam.

Doom games: I really really hate searching for keycards

No mid mission checkpoints in GTA 4.

Some of the puzzles in Silent Hill are ridiculous hard. Like the one with the piano keys in SH1.

That's all i can think of right now

The Library in Halo: Combat Evolved.

Like it has been said before so far in the Halo trilogy there is a recurring theme of at least one lously flood only mission that you grudgingly force your way through to finish a playthrough.

Also, the meteor shooting sections in Dead Space, those were horrific.

Pretty soon I'm going to have to do the Reaper mission as an infiltrator. On insanity. I can't imagine that being fun at all.
