The Fade in Dragon Age: Origins, the one hiccup in an otherwise brilliant game. If you're not a magic user it's just so bloody difficult.
Really? I played a Warrior and don't remember it being any harder than many other parts of that game. Some of it was a bit tough and the puzzle with the doors was annoying, but some of the other parts were worse.

I'd definitely agree with the Little Sister escort mission in Bioshock. Felt very out of place. Defending the Little Sisters in the second game was one of about five reasons I felt it didn't come close to the strength of the the original. Was still enjoyable.
I played a warrior as well, and I didn't have any problems either. I actually like the fade. It gave a nice change of pace after you were starting to get bored of the constant 4-man party fighting.

Anything involving guns in Mirrors edge. Those forced shooting sessions really ruined the game for me.

re: Zelda Ocarina of Time: Yes and no. You can get stuck at certain points, and there is one point where you can fuck up almost permanently (And I think they fixed it in later releases of the game) but you more likely then not just missed one of the small side rooms that had a chest with a key in it.
Maybe vindication though! I was playing it with my boy and we got so stuck I was certain it was a glitch and we were hosed. I sold it on Ebay and he was ticked.

I now have the gamecube version that came with Zelda 1, 2, Ocarina, Mask and a trailer for windwaker. I hope it was fixed by then. I've got to give it another try some day.

The Water Temple in Ocarina of Time such a frustrating temple.
You knew it was coming... and call me crazy, but I actually really enjoyed the Water Temple. I still probably couldn't think of a better-designed level in any video game. It may have been frustrating, but I spent a lot of the time just marveling at the genius behind the level design.
Water temple in almost any LoZ game is a nightmare. I think they enjoy making it hellish. It's like a tradition.

Resource mining in Mass Effect 2. Also the mission on board the derelict reaper. Husk spam makes me rage.
As a Vanguard, the Reaper mission is a dream. Aside from the Scions, the Husks are immediately killed by any force Biotic powers, at least on normal. Shockwave, ho!

The parts in GTA4 on the PC where you've got to race a car or fly a chopper in a mission. To control these things is like trying to subdue a p!ssed off bull on steroids. Great game, controls sometimes "meh".

Oh god the mining, the only good thing to come out of that was the song.
But for some reason I liked the Reaper mission, hell I liked any mission were they just kept tossing husks at me, I thought it was fun burring through five guns worth of ammo, then again I like the flood levels on halo.
This for sure... there's no reason that someone who's backed by cerberus and is trying to save the fucking world needs to go out on his own resource gathering missions. It was simply a way to pad the game's length and include optional side missions. They're trying to give you the idea of vast galaxy to explore but you can't even land on most of the planets.

I also loved it when they tossed husks. Gets you more use out of your shotgun and biotics... Husks are no match for throw!

Personally, I enjoyed Halo: Combat Evolved. I still regard The Library as one of the most horrid levels in history, though. Did this even seem like a good idea at the time?
*Shrugs*

I still refuse to play that level unless in co-op.

Also Cortana in Halo 3. No person who has played halo 3 likes talking about that level.

Edit: I don't think the water temple in OoT was bad. That level only took me so lomng because of a puzzle involving raising a block with water and then diving underneath it.

The escort missions in Sacred 2. Your excortee's usually had all the self preservation of a suicidal lemming and the life expectency of a chocolate teapot.

That coupled with the fact that the area you had to take them too was about 3000 miles from your starting point and that enemies tended to spawn EVERY 3 CENTIMETRES meant that eventually I just tended to kill the guy myself to save time.

People have said it already but The Fade in DA:O. I was a rogue and when the level started I thought it was a really intriguing premise. I liked the way the game was doing something different. I found some battles a bit hard but the worst bit was trying to find my way to all the damn forms! I spent at least 4 hours on that section because I had no idea where to go. However when I got the Golem. I was just laughing my way through smashing the living pish out of things, which redeemed it somewhat in my eyes

That section in Paper Mario:TTYD where you have to trek back and forth between twilight town and the cathedral with just you and Vivian. Avoiding the rock enemies and those things in the well pissed me off to no end. Also the fact that it was the same boring back and forth about 4 times.

Fracture Hills in Spyro 2: It involved power charging which I suck at, large annoying enemies, and the most idiotic escort mission I've ever seen.I literally screamed when i realized Hunter was a 2 second walk from the alchemist's cave and he chose the way filled with massive club guys.

Stage 8-1 and all of Stage B in Super Castlevania for the abundance of instant death traps.

Also more of a horrible level in an okay game: The Kama Palace from Persona, Not only is the boss hard to get to due to all the falling pits and potentially fatal random encounters but it has the balls to send you back to the entrance the first time you reach the boss.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Any part with Raiden.

First thing that comes to mind was to look at my games shelf. Then I realised games dont normally stay in my house for more than 10 minutes before being traded in for something else.

Ill agree with what that guy said ages back. The Cortana mission in Halo 3. I felt good when I finally finished it though.
