Two men have been arrested in a plot to attack a Seattle military recruiting station, reports the U.S. Justice Department and FBI.

Abu Khalid Abdul-Latif, who also went by Joseph Anthony Davis, 33, of Seattle, and Walli Mujahidh, also known as Frederick Domingue, Jr., 32, of Los Angeles, will face terrorism and firearms charges for the suspected plot.
The pair were arrested Wednesday night after nearly a month of surveillance and recordings by FBI with the help of an informant recruited to join the plot. During that time, law enforcement say they learned Abdul-Latif and Mujahidh intended to shoot people enlisting in the armed forces at the Military Entrance Processing Station on East Marginal Way (MEPS).

Among the weapons the men possessed were a Heckler & Koch MP5 9x19 mm caliber sub-machine gun and Colt M16A2 Commando 5.56 mm caliber assault rifles, charging documents show.

Official charges carry life sentences

Officially, Abdul-Latif and Mujahidh are charged by complaint with:
conspiracy to murder officers and employees of the United States
conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction (grenades)
possession of firearms in furtherance of crimes of violence.
Additionally, Abdul-Latif is charged with two counts of illegal possession of firearms.
Both men face life in prison if convicted of the charges.

Well... go USA I suppose. Glad they could be stopped before a lot of men and women died senselessly.

Though if I lived where the Seahawks called home, I'd try and blow it up too.

... kidding, of course. I realize this is very serious.

Dude, I totally used to live in Bremerton! (sorry for creeping and such)

But yes, very good they caught this. I expect many more of these stories to be popping up in the near future seeing as the 10th anniversary of 9/11 is coming up in a few months.

Keep at it guys and gals!

Well I found this one man who goes by Phoenix Jones Guardian who is pictured with a Seattle police officer in an undated photo. The Seattle PI has a whole story about it.

I love how some terrorists always try to attack the obvious places where security is in high detail. Shows how much planning and proper rationalization goes into their "killing sprees".

The second most interesting thing that I learned from this article is that grenades are considered to be weapons of mass destruction...

One can't blame a dude for creeping if that man has lived in Bremerton at any point in his life!
(lol)
But you are right, as 9/11 gets closer there will be more.

Glad they caught 'em. Seattle is completely undeserving of such things. It's much too awesome.
Your right about that, Seattle is my favorite city. The police kind of sucks, but oh well.
Still awesome.

Wow. First the attempted parade bombing, and now this?

I wonder what makes Washington State such a hot bed of terrorism. Maybe they have it confused with the other Washington?

Its the rain, it drives us mad, MAD I SAY.

OT: Its good that these guys got caught. Although it would have been really funny to see them try their original plan to attack Fort Lewis, which they were just going to drive a truck into and start attacking.

meh. would've failed anyway with all the people carrying guns in their purses.
Indeed. If you support gun control, you support terrorism.

That certainly wouldn't surprise me.

I was sure that you were going to say it was the russians with an army of robots and our only defense is a guy in a cool suite that can slide around everywhere in slomotion

The Mariners just got swept by the Nationals... I feel like the Mariners just try and make it hard for me to be a fan of them.

OT: Glad to see they were stopped before anything happened. I remember while I was in Portland, Oregon over winter break last year, there was a terrorist plot that was stopped by the FBI. He was going to blow up everyone at a tree lighting they do every year in downtown Portland. I was at the tree lighting too, which was scary, but I didn't hear about it until I got back.

That wasn't the scariest part though, I actually knew the guy who was planning it, or at least I thought I knew him. I had classes with him in high school and in college. It just felt weird to think a guy I would talk to during classes would make an attempt to kill a bunch of people.
