Gabe Newell said the guys behind the "Meet the Team" are working on comics! [http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2009/02/18/dice-2009-valve-creating-team-fortress-2-comics/] I think it's pretty cool, though I wonder if he means web-comics or actual comic books.

either way, i say kick ass. if they're going for plot type humor, then it'll be book, and if it's jokes like in meet the team, it'll probably be web based and then be released in book form later for people who like to own things. probaby the second one...

what do you suppose he means by 'entertainment' company? i'm not sure if i like the sound of that...

An actul comic book, quite an interesting development, off the top of my head I can not think of any game companies that have made that step before. The way I see it, it could eithier make certain people more attached to their favorite class, or if written rather poorly coupled with the subtraction of interactivity with the game itself, could distance some people. But due to the infalibility of valve, I sincerly doubt that anything truely negative could come out of this slight change of pace.

Well, theres bungie with the Halo comic off the top of my head. Plus I think there was a Mirrors Edge comic. Its certainly not something new.

I would certainly read it if it where a web comic, but I'm not sure it'd be worth a purchase. I spend too much money on comics and games as it is.
