TF2 End of the Line update and video are live

Not gonna lie, the update seems...underwhelming, particularly for one that's been in the making for so long. Only one new melee weapon with stock attributes, one new taunt and a bunch of cosmetics? Moreover, Valve axed the map that was going to be included because it was "too confusing for new players" (and cp_steel isn't?!).
Having said that, the film was awesome, rivaling "Expiration Date" in terms of quality (and even surpassing it in some areas). Once again TF2 proves how flexible its setting can be, pulling off everything from supremely bizarre mindfuckery. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQNx0yvnMRQ]

Fantastic video, crappy update. Really been disappointed with the last few TF2 updates. The Halloween update barely worked, and this is basically nothing, it's a single new melee weapon and some cosmetic items. If they didn't have an announcement for it I don't think anyone would even notice. Then again, it's impressive that TF2 still gets updates at all.
Because clearly there's no time for that. I mean, how are you supposed to evacuate a kitten pet store, an orphanage and a kitten orphanage? Kittens don't like to be evacuated. If you try to coral them they just run around and pee everywhere in the most adorable manner.Zhukov said:
Disappointed that there isn't somehow a cat item in the game now. I know they can't exactly add functionally different items every update or the gameplay would be a clusterfuck, but the cosmetics they added just... well... seem a lot like ones that are already in the game, most of them. And how about a new map or two maybe?

Fuck you all, I thought End of the Line was a spectacular piece of work. Atmosphere, animation, action, sound, choreography, models, environments, a little humor, and the soundtrack especially. And I'm so glad they went with no dialogue, since I'd rather have facial expressions and body language than mish-mashed audio lines or impersonations. This is a really good short film, I enjoyed this more than all of the Meet the Team videos, maybe even more than Expiration Date, and I'm not letting some lackluster update ruin this.
This update was over a year in the making. The new weapons they were toying with either got cut because Valve didn't like them, or they are already released under the Love and War update. Valve cut cp_snowplow because it was 'too confusing and challenging for new players'. The only other things they added were more of those stupid ducks and some pay-to-play event like in CS:GO that I'm not going into. This doesn't qualify as a major update, I think Robot Boogaloo was a more substantial event than this update.
We still have Smissmas and that long-conspired about Spy vs. Engie War coming up, so I'm not sweating it. Just enjoy the video made by McV and his group and stop worrying about this update.

Sadly the actual map with the train was cut from the update by Valve because it was "too confusing" or some crap like that. Valve is really slipping these days in terms of... everything. I think they've definitely lost my respect and the respect of many other people.
