So yeah, I've heard about TF2 forever, but never really checked it out. I saw the orange box for sale on the XBLA and was wondering if the Xbox version was as good as the PC version. Probably not, but is it even worth getting? I'd play it on my PC, but it's a piece of shit.

The PC version has been getting regular updates since 2007 that the 360 version hasn't, they aren't really the same games anymore.

From what I hear the 360 version is pretty much completely dead, too.

What are your PC specs? You'd be surprised at what hardware TF2 will run on.

Well TF2 is free-to-play now, so trying it on your PC isn't going to hurt anything at this point. As Scrabbit said, they are very different games in many ways, so it might be more worth your money to at least try the PC version first. If it doesn't work, then you haven't lost anything. If it does work, then you have the better version anyway and it didn't cost you a penny (unless you want it to, and unlock more features and stuff).

Plus, the PC version of TF2 is free, so you have absolutely nothing to lose by trying it out. You can even get a decent framerate on hardware under the minimums with a few tricks. I think The Orange Box is worth getting for consoles if you can find it cheap and your computer sucks, but only if you're interested in Half Life and Portal. I wouldn't bother with the console version of TF2 at this point.

I wouldnt bother. If you're going to get the orange box. dont get it for TF2.

I would recommend getting it on the PC. there's really no reason why you cant seeing as its now FTP and its a 5 year old game so it should run on most newer PC's.

As someone who used to play the PS3 version, get the PC version. Not only is it free, but is should run on most computers. And like Lilani said, if it doesn't work, at least you haven't lost anything.

Besides, the console versions have never been patched. I remember when I used to play the PS3 version people would find a way to get above the maps and build sentries from up there. And as far as I know, that has never been fixed.

Yeah, at least try it on your computer. It's free, so why not?
But don't get the 360 version. It's like 1/10 the game that the PC version is, and doesn't really have anyone playing it. Definitely avoid it.

Nah, the original Half-life or Half-life 2 without TF is way better, I hated that cartoony crap. IMO go with the original half-life style DM or CTF.
For anything other then the PC, I don't have a clue. PC wise it is still guns 'a' blazin
Or just wait for Half-Life 3

I love TF2's visuals. It's stylish, bold and distinctive. It also makes it easy to distinguish what's going on in the heat of battle.

How can you dislike TF2's visuals? Are you some kind of soulless robo-OH GOD, THEY'RE HERE TOO!
Back on-topic, I'd definitely recommend the PC version. The amount of content that has been added in the PC version post-launch is nothing short of staggering:

Most of the added content is well worth checking out, though I must admit that the plethora of hats and other cosmetics needlessly clutter the presentation at times. Despite my aforementioned adoration of the game's visuals, I've been dismayed at some of the design decisions in this regard (Why did they have to add hot pink paint?! WHYYYYY?!).

Don't bother, MS won't let Valve update for free, so Valve quit supporting the 360 version. You would be better off saving for a new graphics card and then getting it for free off of steam.

Get it on PC.
It's F2P, and gets constant updates.
All you need is a Steam account, and a PC with specs circa the Napoleonic Wars.

Protip: Do not buy Valve's 360 mp games. They don't bother much with them after launch.

If you want to play the original Team Fortress 2, although I dont know if you will fin anyone to play with. I will say though that the original TF2 and the TF2 that exists on the PC are quite diferent, none is better then the other, and its always possible to play that original gamemode on the PC.

Like everyone else, I suggest you play TF2 is the PC. It's free there and is actually an alive community compared to Xbox Live one.

I wouldn't but Tf2 by itself for the xbox. make you sure you get the most bang for your buck by getting the ornage box, it's only $15 bucks now. However the xbox port of Tf2 has never had a single update so it's basically Tf2 vanilla. If there was ever a trial version of Tf2 the xbox port would be it. However some people do not like all the newfangled gadgets that some call 'OP', and others lack the co-ordination to play Pc games but can handle xbox controllers so it's a bit of a gamble.

No the 360 version is about the same as TF2 in 2007 it has 90% less content and maps also the online is dead. If you don't like using a mouse and keyboard there are ways to get a 360 controller to work for pc.

No, the OB is great overall but the TF2 bit of the deal is bad. I can't describe just how much better TF2 is on the PC. It has had countless updates over the years and the 360 version is still stuck in 2007. To top it all off the online is fairly dead.

I would say try to see how TF2 runs on your PC, it's free to play so just download it in the background and load it up just to make sure. You lose literally nothing.

If you haven't played Portal or the Half Life games I would say buy TOB anyway. TF2 is the little extra crap thing you get when you buy Portal and HL2. Again TF2 is FTP on the PC anyway so you get 2 awesome games at a cheap price regardless

I am not happy with the amount of numbers and acronyms in my post -_-
