TF2 could have at least been decent on console if Valve knew what the fuck they were doing and didn't completely abandon the game after a a few measly patches. We weren't asking for everything the PC version got, just a map pack or two and some more patches to make the game playable.

INB4 "It's 100% M$ fault Valve is perfect blablahblah!"
It is pretty much Microsoft's fault. They have some really stupid policies, namely that NOTHING may be updated or sold for free. Team Fortress 2 is a free game with free updates and downloadable content. Microsoft won't allow that.

Microsoft: How DARE you try to give away your own stuff for free instead of taking away their money!?
Valve: ... Yeah... We're gonna just... go now...
Then why NOT just have us pay for map packs?

If the console releases of Left 4 Dead showed us anything is that Valve has no problem making console players pay for something PC players get for free.

And if that really is a legitimate reason why they abandoned the console version of TF2 (And really ALL of their games) then that really makes Valve a shitty developer. I mean, that's basically saying "Hey, MS won't make an exception for us and let us give you stuff for free so instead of doing the logical thing and just making you pay a small fee, we're not going to give you ANYTHING and just leave our console release to rot! Have fun!"

Yes, MS and Sony make developers pay to patch games, but there are a ton of developers who've been able to support their games a hell of a lot better than Valve does. Naughty Dog has released 13 significant patches along with a bunch of map packs and add-ons and while they are a successful company, last time I checked they weren't a multi-billion dollar company which Valve is thanks to Steam.

Once again, the "Microsoft won't let them give away stuff!" is NOT a legitimate excuse. if after all this you're still thinking that then you are an idiot.

You must be tripping the Xbox version has never had anything done to it whereas the PC version isn't even the same game any more with how many updates they've done to it.When it was first released it was extremely hard to find a game I very much doubt there's a single person left online now. There is one thing going for the console version though Less hats.
