TF2 PC and console differences?

after playing TF2 for a long time on the xbox i was always told that its the pc version is way better. i went and bought tf2 for pc today and its downloading now and i was wondering what the major differences are and what i should expect.

do i just get new weapons?
are all the new maps free?
and id just like to know any other differences.

There's plenty of new weapons and maps, and everything's free. You can also put fancy mods and the like in.

There's many updates for the PC version which gives out a lot of weapons and cool little gadgets. I guess that is what makes the PC players gloat a little bit.

Yes, you do get new weapons, but not automatically. You have to play the game for maybe an hour for every weapon you get.

Maps are free. And there are A LOT of them.

New game modes (King of the Hill, Payload, Arena)

More balance (read; Everyone doesn't go Demo and stickbomb spam)

And mods.

Well it has more weapon's, maps, patches to fix glitches and balance issues. You can also download mods and such to personalize your gaming experience...

Nope, it is because Microsoft doesn't like giving things away for free. All the new maps that PC gamers got for free would be paid for DLC on Xbox.

OT. Buy the PC version. It will take forever to download all of the compiled updates, but once that is done, you're up to speed with everyone else.

Plenty of updates, a generally neater and friendly gaming community and the mouse. Oh how I envy those with the mouse. You can't snipe well with a controller if you are out of practice but you can snipe quite well instantly with a mouse.

...I wish I had the PC version...

The only real difference besides mods and controls is the fact that the PC version got support, while the console version got none. If you're going to play the game on the console, then I hope you're doing so to kill time, because it is a sloppy port (not Valve's fault, the people who port their stuff fail).

yeah its took no time for the game to install but the update is a ridiculously long download,i'm so impatient tho. the only other pc game ive played is alien swarm and wow . ususally ill take console over pc because i hate download time. but tf2 was so fun i didnt think it could get better and people were telling me it is on the pc! so i had to have it.

its a combination of the 2, for one the orange box came out when really most ppl just had the 20 gig hd, Ill bet alot still only have that and also ms charges the publisher for any updates or patches or anything so no one will give a damn thing for free over the xbox
