First, I wasn't looking for a solution to this particular problem. Second, were I to explore the back catalog, it would be Team Fortress Mega. Third, just because a game is old doesn't mean it doesn't have a place or purpose.shadowuser10141 said:Then go play TFC on their empty servers with bots.Eclectic Dreck said:Because Team Fortress 2 bears so little resemblance to Team Fortress or even Team Fortress Classic. Hell, the version of TF2 out in the wild now bears little resemblance to the TF2 of 2007. You make radical changes to just about everything like Valve has, you're bound to lose fans along the way.
TFC is a relic.
My personal solution to the problem was to play any of a dozen other games that compete for my attention. What I want team fortress to be is not what team fortress has become or ever will be again. I had my time with it back when it was awesome.
I mean, the spy used to have a grappling hook and medics used to be able to transmit tropical illness among an enemy team. And that doesn't even begin to cover the fun to be had with grenades of all stripes. But people seem to love the game even with it's myriad alternate weapons and the silly hats and the radical undermining of class dynamics. Who am I to fault them?
