TF2 Update Continues, Demoman Gets...Sword and Shield?

I like it. It will definitely mix things up a little, and the health and speed boosts it gives will perhaps cut down on the amount of sticky spam. Sure it probably won't be used in professional play, but who cares about them anyway? If you're not playing for fun then you've missed the entire point of the game.

Also, the Demoman's name is Tavish Degroot. Who knew?

perhaps winning is fun to us? think of that?

Dedicating ourselves to mastering a game and more importantly facing another person is more fun to us than simply playing for fun. I find it fun to play on high level, other people dont have the dedication or the talent.

Indeed my friend, I'm so glad my clan is just a "for shits & giggles and have loads of fun" clan, these little gadgets will see a lot of use. I think it's awesome in it's non-sequitur-ishness.

Seems somewhat odd given that the sticky launcher was a Demoman's most versitile (sp?) tool.

but i still think its a chain yank. it seems too powerful, with sprint, high defense, kill to get more speed and health, instant kills, but at the same time, very useless, as you have to lose ranged weaponry

I hope it's a chain yank, because it deviates from Demoman's original purpose FAR TOO MUCH. Sure, it sounds hilarious, but come on! Charging with that shield faster than Scout? Ridiculous for a defensive class!

They could still keep The Eyelander though - it could be a decent melee replacement.

Yeah that's true, I think it might be a little OP. But without playing it, I'm not sure.

Although keep in mind if a Demo equips both the sword and shield they'll still have the grendade launcher for ranged attacks.

For all those who think its impossible for the Chargin Targe (Shield) to have any sort of resistance: Its from Saxton Hale. Of course it's resistant to fire.

Just equipping the Chargin? Targe provides automatic +50% fire damage resistance and +65% blast damage resistance. But the Chargin? Targe?s main perk lies in its name. Alt-firing will hurtle you toward an enemy at a punishingly damaging high speed
