Yeah I meant thatI don't have a computer available to revamp (did I use that right?). Once I do it'll be a couple weeks and I'm done... if I have the money... so it might take months.

That's probably not gonna work too well. The minimum Processor speed listed for TF2 is 1.7GHz. I'd wait till you build/buy a proper computer to buy it (but never, EVER buy it for the XBox, you'll miss out on 2 years worth of updates)

All past games have required higher than 1.3 GHz processor speed and have a decent frame rates.

Yah, even as a console player myself, thinking consoles are best for gaming (well, action games. I agree MMOs and such are better on PC) i can see all the updates and features that the PC version has. It's got "hats", and different outfits, and im assuming different weapons for characters? I might be wrong on that one. But the xbox version hasn't had a serious update since it was released in like, what? 2007?

So go for the PC version. I understand being comfortable with Xbox controls, but even on XBL, there always seems to be a lot of lag. A shame, cause the game is extremely fun.

You can do A LOT more for PC, you have new weapons, 370-something achievements player customization, tons of new maps, people actually playing it, no lag issues, runs on servers not host lobbies *shudders* Kill-taunts, voice commands, and YAY! better graphics for all of your cartoony blood-gushing needs!

Hmm...Well, maybe you might be able to run it if you can run those. The beauty about TF2, at least for someone like yourself, is that the game will still look pretty good, even on low settings. If you have enough faith, you could just buy it off Steam right now and start downloading. Or you could post your netbook's specs and let me take a look.

on tf2 a lot of people like to talk to each other and plan out strategies and stuff. on computer at least. If you try to say anything on xbox live to your teamates you will most likely have 15 7 year olds yelling "lololololol you fag!"

Frame rates are based on your graphics card, not your processor. The graphics card might be able to render everything fine, but that won't help your computer try and figure out what's actually happening in the game at any give time. You can certainly try it, and it might work, but I wouldn't put too much faith in it. 60fps won't do you much good if your processor can only give you 10 frames worth of calculations.

You might be able to run the game at a very very low settings (Custom Config)

The Intel GPU's are horrible at Video Games.

Fuck, now I look like an idiot. Well, can't hide the truth for long eh. I'll be getting it off steam so if I can't play it on my netbook I'll just play it on the hypothetical PC I'm fixing up.

I don't think your netbook will run it OP.

Like people have mentioned before TF2 PC has been updated a lot so it's worth playing it on PC.

Where I have to disagree is where people are saying PC is clearly superior because frankly it isn't, anyone with enough money to own a rig and the next gen gaming systems will tell you you'll miss out on a lot of great console games if you just play PC.

That processor speed is killer. Absolutely killer to any chances you have at playing this. I just don't think it will be able to run it, not to mention your memory is...lacking to say the least. It is only a netbook after all.

Why would I be better off buying Team Fortress 2 for my Netbook rather than my XBOX? From the point that I'm standing right now, it looks like the XBOX has easy controls that I am already used to and guaranteed top performance at all times.

I ask this because I am currently arguing with myself over whether to get it for XBOX or PC, I know how much we all like Valve and I know we all realise PCs are better, but I doubt my netbook will be able to run it as well as my XBOX can.

I own a Compaq netbook I picked up for $250 at Christmas. Even with a RAM upgrade to 2GB (1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor) it still can't run Portal at more than 10 FPS. (0 Portal render depth) While I haven't actually played TF2 on it, you can probably expect to get around 5 - 15 at most FPS. Maybe less.

I work at an electronics store, so I've seen a lot of netbooks. I don't know what model you own, but believe me, (This is going to sound like raving madness from people who know me as an adamant PC gamer) there isn't a netbook around that can compare to the gaming capability of XBox.

XBox versions may have less features, but way I see it you're best off playing a limited game on an XBox than attempting and failing to play a full game on a netbook.

360 TF2 doesn't have matchmaking, you choose the game based on map, time limit, host, and connection speed. But really, 360 version has a small but dedicated community. I also doubt that the average netbook could run it at more than 5 fps even with special add-ons. I'd go with the 360 version until a suitable computer comes along.
