what is with all the love for TF2?
when i got the game, i went into it expecting it to me pretty awesome, from everything people say. but when i actually playing the game, i found its sorta boring...
am i wrong and just ignorant to its awesomeness? or is it just not as good as people say?

No, it's good, you just found it boring. People have different tastes and just because you didn't like it (which, by the way is nutty!) doesn't mean that it is bad.

It's a different kind of shooter, it's not a grey/brown game with this dead set seriousness. The game is fun, funny, and is meant to be more loose and balanced.

Maybe you're just going into it with the wrong mindset.

It was an aquired taste for me.
At first I didn't like it, stopped playing. Friend said he was playing, I decided to give it another shot.
As of that day, my life has been significantly lessened.

That's just your opinion, some people like certain games, other's don't, perhaps give it a bit more time, and if you still don't like it, then it's not for you.

TF2 is too cartoonish looking and has no singleplayer mode. For those reasons the game fails for me. It's all a matter of what you personally like though expect plenty of fanboys.

TF 2 is very simple, symmetrical maps, only one type of objective/map (either, capture the flag, capture points or push cart), not much room for customization (somewhat averted with unlocks), very set-in-stone classes (ie. good at one thing, sucks as everything else), etc.

Still, it can be fun from time to time.

I like TF2 for its maps, and the diversity of the characters. Its one of those games I can pick up for an hour or 2, drop it for the next 2 weeks, and pick it up and have a lot of fun. It does take a bit to get into, but it also is unique enough that it can polarize a little bit.

I found it boring also, same as counterstrike. Repedative run and gun gets plain real fast to me.
However having said that, it does what it does well, so for players that like it the game is perfect.

i found it very boring, repetitive and the controls and characters to be clunky and just not very fun to use (i don't really like the half life engine that much in general, portal somehow been the exception). but thats just my opinion

you play TF2 for the stylized graphics and the character balance (at least the rock paper scissors style of balance)

It's a simple game that doesn't have as many retarded "Spawn/Die" situations of the other online shooters.

It's not the best shooter ever, but it's one of the funner shooters, just from being in that world.

How could it have singleplayer though? It was built around multiplayer.

Also, what's wrong with stylised graphics? Not brown and bloom enough for you? (I kid, I kid)

I felt it to be a bit boring
but that's probably because I hadn't gotten use to it since i am also use to the grittiness of current generation graphics

The people you play with matter quite much for your experience you get as well. Play with retarded assholes whose vocabulary dosen't contain the words "teammate" or "Cooperation", and you'll get a shitty experience.

I've enjoyed TF2 since I got it, back before the Heavy Update. I play a mix of the classes, but my favourites are the Scout, Spy and Heavy. Even though I don't play Spy very well.

It's funny, well-balanced, has some great gameplay modes, an overall decent community, and free DLC several times a year. That's good enough for me. Keep playing, it'll grow on you.

I like disguising as snipers and hiding in the sniper pits, walking back and forth, just like I was sniping.

then when a bunch of snipers come.. BAM BAM BAM BAM, CLOAK, BOOK IT!!

so fun.

No one says you have to like it. I feel that most people who don't like it or "didn't like the feel" simply go into it with the wrong mindset. The game is more about balance, team work and "strategy" than running and gunning/camping in MW2. I say "strategy" because it's a different kind of run and gun and camping than the bullet games.

Some say it's more simple, but it's just different, I mean yes you have your M1+W pyros, but then you have pryos that make you wear your butt like a hat because they know the class so well. I've seen 1 pyro stop a uber heavy, kill them both and the remaining 2 that were running into the base, how? He knew what he was doing.
