Yesterday (or the day before,or before that) I was reading an article here on The Escapist about one of the games I've been looking forward to the most this year,L.A. Noire.

After finishing the article I read some of the comments and one of them pointed out how L.A. Noire was in some ways similar the movie L.A. Confidential.
After some browsing around I got around to watching it and...
I really,really enjoyed it! (Thanks!)

So,have you ever discovered something you now love because of this site/forums?
Or maybe you want to share something so that others can enjoy it,just like you do?

Share the love!

A while ago there was a little article about Tropico 4. In the comments, The Root Of All Evil basically called El Presidente 'the Duke Nukem of RTS games'. This made me so interested that I checked the demo, and promptly fell in love with the game. I've already put about 35-ish hours into it.

MovieBob has also really helped me with checking out movies, and Extra Credits has enlightened me more than once on various subjects. And I have the forums to thank me for taking away my scepticism surrounding My Little Pony. Thanks Escapist!

Also yes, L.A. Confidential is awesome.

Well people on this forum talked me into getting Oblivion. Another forum started me watching Supernatural.

Well, there is the extremely obvious answer.
Ponies

Other than that this site has introduced me to L.A. Noire, which I assumed was just another GTA until I heard people talking about it on this forum. People on this site have also made me want to play Vampire: The Masquerade and The Witcher 1 and 2, but I can't actually play those because my PC is too weak. I'll certainly be getting The Witcher when it comes out for consoles though.

I got condemned because hell, if yahtzee loved it, it had to be good.

It was. And I shit myself many times and there was much merriment.

IIRC, it was on a recommendation by PedroSteckecilo [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/PedroSteckecilo] that I bought the first book of A Song of Ice and Fire.

A debt that can never be repaid.

Moviebob made me aware of the films Four Lions (available on Netflix), Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans and, Troll Hunter. I haven't seen Troll Hunter yet but I really want to. The other true were films I greatly enjoyed.

Persona 4. Bless you Extra Creditz, You have found my number 1 game and expressed it in words better than I could.
Valkyria Chronicles. I know Yahtzee was not very impressed with it, but I loved it.

This, of course. I got a bit interested but was too lazy to find it, then someone posted a link to the first episode on Youtube.

I watched all 26 in a row.

And loved it.

The band Periphery, as well as multiple other bands. DAMN have I found some good music on these forums.

Also, Minecraft. This site wouldn't (and still won't, really) shut up about it, and I gave it a try. While I don't play it nearly as often as most people, I still thoroughly enjoy it.
