The Dark Brotherhood in Oblivion was all just one big YAY moment for me. Also Portal, still alive.

In zelda oot
- seeing hyrule for the first time
- In the ganondorf battle, first part, you running to the edge of the ring while ganondorf punches the floor and most of the tiles fall
-Ganon battle. The way ganonondorf transforms was astounding
- Killing gannon with sword-in-the-face

In half-life
Basically every g-man moment. i like to listen to him talk

Zelda majora's mask
Seeing the four giants stopping the moon

Can't remember more (losses are easier to remember than wins)

When Martin O 'Donell starts to riff off the amazing Halo Soundtrack while you are taking down your first scarab in New Mombasa in Halo 2. Sweet gaming bliss.

Pretty much any time in Morrowind where you find some cave or ruin that holds that FREAKIN [insert item here] you've been spending HOURS looking for.

Ace Combat Zero.
First time you enter The Round Table, diving head on right into a fierce battle between two factions.

Sky Odyssey.
Not fighting airplanes but Nature itself. Flying inside old ruins that start to crumble down on you and you evade every debris until you finally make your way out through a small hole caused by two falling pillars.

Finishing the boss fights in Shadow of the Colossus. Even though that game consisted entirely of boss fights and little else.

Well, I suppose the environment was pretty spectacular as well.

The ending of CoD4, when you realize "Ere'body dies but me!"

Homeworld; beating the Gardens of Kadesh and harvesting their whole nebula. Still the same feeling of everyhting else dying but you get to look at the pretty dust clouds.

Again with the end of COD4 - not for being the only survivor, but for the way you do it. People dyin' all around, and you're just 'no way... NO WAY!' - and then that final moment in slow mo...

Driving over the brow of a hill at high speed in a tank in Crysis, not slowing at all even as the mountain collapses in the back ground, crashing down the other side and just totalling everything in your way.

The Revan thing was my favourite ever twist in a computer game.

The haunted house in VTM: Bloodlines.

Oh, and not forgetting the scene with Andrew Ryan in Bioshock. Literally blew my socks off.

I'm sure there are lots of moments from older games as well, I just can't remember any of them.

EDIT: Anything in Okami. Literally anything you do is cool as fuck. Turning the damn thing on will do it.

My favorite yay moment ever has to be the ending in Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. It's as simple as it is amazing. I love how he dramatically runs off leaving Farah with something of a "WTF?" expression, and then the beautiful song as the credits roll. It's just perfect.

I agree that Ryan's scene was intense, but my yay moment in Bioshock would have to be when Sander Cohen snaps and the subsequent battle with all those splicers with Tchaikovsky's waltz in the background. That was crazy.

Like someone said up there, HL2Ep2 is pretty much a 6-hour-long yay-ride; but if I have to choose the yayest yay moment, it would be in the "This Vortal Coil" episode, when you fight the swarms of antlions alongside the vorts and those Abbott & Costello knock-offs.

And I remember Metal Gear Solid 2 having a bunch of great yay moments too. Taking down the harrier sort of single-handedly, and then the cutscene that follows, with the Ray coming up from under the ocean, and that whole Vamp's running-on-water-and-up-the-wall thing... that entire part was pretty cool.

Merely because someone dared to say thread closed I feel compelled to add another thing here...
In Half-Life 2 the crazy dude in Ravenholm spouting his various -isms at the zombies.

Ahh, gaming is the best at delivering tingles to the spine.

In Half-Life 2: Ep 2 when the vorts are healing Alyx then Sudenly...Time Stops..... "Mister Freeman"
God I love That.

In Halo when the camera pans across the Piller of Autum in The Maw (Why is it Called the Maw??) and the Car Run at the end.

When you Fight Bhodi in BG2: Shadows of Amn.
I love Dizzet.

Also, I remember when i was 10 i loved watching the Final Cutscene to Starcrft.
All those Scenes were and still are cool in my mind.

And it's already been said, but the Antlion Battle with the Vorts in Episode 2. Freaking Brillient Valve!

Ok, I think it's official: The whole of HL, HL2 and all the episodes. Full stop and shut up if you have anything to say about it.

Now that that's out of the way, I'll have to say the first time you see the Thrasher Maw in Mass Effect. Driving along, not a care in the world and all of a sudden this giant worm bursts its way out of the ground before your eyes!

Another Mass Effect one: The entire last level. The boss fight and the space battle. So epic and so beautiful. Go Seth Green!

The twirly Dove-Spin attack in Stranglehold. Seriously, where do the birds keep comming from?

I'll think of more later.

I prefered the killing the boss in the first one. Severof (or something). But yeah, Mr Irenicus was a bit nasty.
