i think that the end of rainbow six vegas is good where you see the rocket fly away and you just step back and watch it blow up

Man I totally disagree. After all the buildup, that thing was a HUGE disappointment. It was so slow and dumb, you basically just ran around and picked away at it from behind cover like every other boring boss fight ever made. BOOOOOO

Want a great boss fight, how about the Cyberdemon in Doom 3 - running frantically around the edge of the gaping portal to hell and fighting off an unlimited supply of foes in order to charge up your soul cube while trying to dodge shots from the Cyberdemon and hit him with some rockets when you could. Epic.

As far as truly "wow" moments go, I would like to submit the following:

1. The final battle in Portal is so fantastic. It's especially a wonderful thing when a game can build like that and keep impressing you level upon level, then top it all off with something even more awesome than you were expecting.

2. The first time I ever played an online game, Quake 2, with my little brother on my dad's dial-up connection and 300 ping. You had to aim the super shotgun like 10 feet in front of your opponent lol. We'd take turns playing and would be lucky to get a couple kills every match, but I never had that much fun online ever again.

3. The entire intro scene to Beyond Good and Evil really wowed me by being like a cinematic cutscene, but involving the player. I know a lot of games do that kind of thing these days, but this was essentially my first taste to it. I never stopped marveling at how good BG&E looked too, despite being fairly low-poly and low on texture detail. The art design and effects were just impeccable.

4. Watching a little pixelated civilian catch fire, run around screaming, and then stop and roll on the ground desperately trying to put himself out in Red Alert. I was so amazed by the juvenile black humor in this game; it was really my first exposure to the idea that engulfing somebody in a fireball could be funny.

yes, that scene in serenity IS awesome, also, i would say, that scene on prince of persia: the two thrones on kings road, where he crashes, flies into the air, just barely lands on a horse, and narrowly makes it through the giant gates.

also, every cutscene in DMC3 with dante doing stuff, especially the first cutscene, but the falling with his sword pretty much on fire is awesome, and also fighting with a motorbike.
