Have you ever been up late (or early) and just couldn't shake the feeling that there was something you urgently needed to do/find out/discover/finish? Your mind is racing and you begin to feel a torrential wave of anxiety as you plow through your brain searching for whatever task it was you left unfinished, unpolished, or not even started? And no matter what, you can't shake 'the feeling' despite trying your damnedest to forget it by attempting to get back to sleep/work/whatever task you were currently engaged in.

Just last night I was working on something in my D&D campaign, and after three hours of work, I was fairly exhausted. But then 'that feeling' kicked in. So I plied my brain, digging and tearing through nearly sixty pages of campaign work looking for that one little flaw that one thing that my subconscious noticed that I was doing wrong and didn't feel the need to alert me about until after it was over.

Well, an hour and a half later it turns out that it wasn't anything to do with my D&D shit, albeit I did alter the treasure tables slightly. It turns out I had left my keys in the car door when I came home almost five hours previously...

Good thing I noticed.

Anything like this ever happen to you?

All the time, so annoying (in that I regularly lose sleep) and yet so useful. Last time I had it was before I was about to go to bed, and it took me ages to work out what was wrong - turned out I'd left my hair-straighteners on - they're on a protective mat, so no damage would be done for the first couple of hours, but its a good thing I didn't dismiss the feeling and go to sleep.

Yeah, like that one time in Wal-mart when I suddenly remembered that my niece was in the car...I ran back...but it was too late.

Just kidding! I've never forgotten a child in a vehicle.

But on a more serious note, I did leave a rather...interesting 'adult' video on the television once, fell asleep, and woke myself up with 'that feeling' that something was wrong. Turns out my mother had decided to stop by and come over..I walked into the living room, and she was sitting there with her eyes narrowed tapping her foot.

Hell, I was 20 years old..it's not like what I did was wrong. Funny conversation though.

"That feeling" saved my butt once. I was playing Assassin's Creed and I got the strangest feeling I was supposed to do something important.
Turns out, I was supposed to write an essay that was due the next day.
I owe that feeling an A in English.

It actually helps to have that feeling. I was vice-president of the debate club in my school. I would had been screwed, if I didn't have it.

No one then? Fine. It's up to me again.

"When I get 'that feeling' I want sexual healing!"

Yeah, I sometimes get that feeling, but I tend to ignor it a bit. Which is stupid, because I realise what it is the next day and it's usually something important.

after years of highschool, i've finally found out that "that feeling" is never good. more often than not it includes the following:
I shouldn't be drinking which is the only time it comes up
A defeatest attitude like what am i gonna do
and finally acceptance that its not gonna get done and take a tequilla shot

Sometimes I'll sit awake completely stressed out for some reason, until I realize I don't have anything to be worried about. It's hell at night but the feeling of relief I get afterward is pretty nice.
