What do you guys think of the reviewers on the site?
Which ones do you enjoy, not care for, or just think are okay?
It can be about their 'web persona', the person in real life or both.

Film Brain
Mike J
Linkara
Lupa
Diamanda

Todd in the Shadows

Don't care for-

The only one I liked was Spoony, but he's not with them anymore.
Cinema Snob is okay.

edit: I recall their site being ungodly to navigate, is that still the case?

You know, it's weird, I actually really like Bennett and Oancitizen. I think that's mainly because I too have wadded through bargain bin anime and art house films.
If you like Nostalgia Chick and Todd in the Shadows, then you might also enjoy keeping up with Chez Apocalypse, the site that they founded alongside PhilBuni and a few others.
Also, do you check out any other reviewer websites, like agony booth?

Eh, I watch Nostalgia Critic, Chick, and Linkara. Occasionally Cinema Snob, Obscurus Lupa, Angry Joe. And I'm very fond of Freeman's Mind, though I'm not entirely sure how much of a TGWTG production is - I see it listed on the site.

As for the others - eh, I haven't really watched most of them. I might some time in the future, though - I usually load up a video when I'm playing some non-engaging game, say, Minecraft.

Yeah, I think I prefer Spoony to any of the others I mentioned.

Nostalgia Critic's coming back strong IMO, I like the more analytical episodes now that he's run out of character development.

Film Brain's only getting better as a reviewer, in inverse proportion to his delivery of his script. Seriously, highly value his opinions on most things he reviews, but he elongates the end of every single sentence in what he probably means to be a generic newscaster sounding voice but just ends up grating.

Don't watch Linkara anymore because his episodes were getting too plotty and the interesting comics he reviewed were growing less. Don't bother with the rest of them.

One problem they share is that they all often do reviews of incredibly boring things and we have to watch them pretend to get angry about it, which got tired as a comedic device around the first time they each did it.

That's about it really, I lean more toward this website nowadays because Yahtzee and Moviebob are more consistently funny and interesting.

I used to love Oan, and I thought Linkara was pretty good, and kept up with a few others, but the lynching of the Spoony one really put me off the site as a whole. Didn't enjoy watching hundreds of people trying to 'help' - or just harass - a man who was clearly going through some serious mental health issues.

Now I just watch Spoony and CinemaSnob on their own sites.

Its still very clunky and trying to search its blog section is a nightmare.

OT: I only watch that Scifi guy, Film Brain, Mike J, and Maven. All the other people like The Cinema Snob, Phelous & Lupa, Angry Joe, and Spoony all have their own sites so i use those instead.

Sadly alot of the new blood on that site are too much into to silly characters and not making good review and alot of the old blood have gotten lazy.

Film Brain. I don't really get why people don't like his inflections. Sometimes it gets annoying but that's kinda rare for me.
Bennet the Sage (Anime Abandon specifically)
Y Ruler of Time

Angry Joe and Spoony probably don't count since they have their own sites/left.

The others I either haven't tried or can take or leave.

I only watch and like Todd In The Shadows, Phelous and the Maven of the Eventide.

Nostalgia Critic is ok I guess, but often times he's boring.

Nostalgia Chick used to be good but she's dedicated this year to not reviewing films and doing those pointless "50 shades of Green" episodes.

I feel like the site has somewhat dipped in quality as of late, but I still check it regularly.

The new Nostalgia Critic reviews are kinda a mixed bag in my book, although it IS nice that he's back.
I like Nostalgia Chick, Film Brain, and Bennett. Oancitizen is probably my favorite of the reviewers on the site. It's only a shame that he doesn't update more often (although I was delighted to see that he finally made a new video after that long break recently).

I watch Snob occasionally, and I do like to watch Phelous's new Bootleg Zone videos (being a toy collector myself).

Is JesuOtaku even on the site anymore? Last I checked, she was doing that whole Digimon retrospective, but I don't think she even finished her season 3 section of it before it stopped. Does she even still do reviews?

And then there's Linkara. I like him... but honestly, I haven't watched his videos in like 6 months. No idea why, I just can't be assed to watch them anymore for some reason. Still enjoy watching his History of the Power Rangers vids, though (although the only one he's released recently was Mystic Force).

I like Nostalgia Critic and Chick, Diamanda Hagan, and Obscurus Lupa. I like Informercalism, Brad Tries (and I'll watching Cinema Snob every now and again), and Familiar Faces. I'll watch a Blockbuster Buster from time to time.

My favorites though are Todd in the Shadows and Oancitizen. And the movies. I was just about dying with laughter when it came to Suburban Knights.

And Radio Dead Air/What the Fuck is Wrong with You?, that's hilarious.

In order of favorite to least favorite:
1) AVGN *not associated with the site directly but referenced and featured occasionally*
2) Spooney One *no longer with the site but was for quite a while*
3) Cinema Snob
4) Phelous *only for his movie reviews though*
5) Nostalgia Critic
6) Angry Joe *only recently got into his game reviews and love them!*

From here the list gets wish-washy in terms of preference:
7) Linkara *reviews only, hate the story arc stuff*
8) Mike J
9) Blockbuster buster *reviews only, hate the story arc stuff*
10) Film Brain
11) Lupa *I don't really like her stuff but 1 in 10 episodes are decent*

If it's not clear from this post I absolutely love that site. I'll check on it daily and watch anything it has to offer over anything on netflix or similar sites any day.

I follow the Critic, Linkara, JesuOtaku, and Oancitizen (and Spoony). I guess you could say I follow Suede, too. I wanted to like Anime Abandon, but me and Sage's opinions are too different. Oh, I also listen to Weekly Manga Recap occasionally.

But Oancitizen's a cool guy.

I just have one question: What happened to Welshy?! He said something about going off to tape a movie, but that was what, two years ago?

I dunno, I used to watch the Nostalgia Critic ages ago, but I haven't been on their site for well over a year---

Wait, what?!

That's where Freeman's Mind now is?!

Well, looks like I've got stuff to watch tonight! Thank guy who I recognize on this forum from time to time because of the World Of Darkness Avatar!

I know Spoony isn't there anymore, but the site introduced me to him and he's the only one I still try to regularly follow for the time being. He's funny, he's intelligent, insightful and really has the passion to go in depth and pick apart all the little details and inconsistencies that I never would have given consideration to. He's very good at driving his point home, even if I don't agree with it. I knew absolutely nothing about the Ultima series before he kicked off his retrospective, but by the end of it he's really taken you on a journey and you completely get the burning rage he holds for Ascension, it's palpable. The words 'What's a Paladin?' will forever be etched into my mind and I think there's a real talent behind that. I dig the Nostalgia Critic and I've seen pretty much every episode he's done up to and including the Scooby-Doo finale thing, but from that point on I haven't caught up with anything TGWTG related unless you count Spoony. I guess I kind of partly lost interest in the site, partly got sick of trying to load their video's with my shitty connection (which has miraculously vastly improved of late), I fell behind with a lot of the people I was following and couldn't be fucked to sift through all the new reviews and get up to speed, I never saw/heard bad things about/couldn't be arsed with To Boldly Flee and as much as I like the guy, I think NC/Doug seriously fucking caved by bringing the character back after about 3 months or whatever it was. So it's been a little while since I've visited the site, but when I was frequenting it, I was into the following:

I really like Bennett the Sage's video game reviews and I'm intrigued enough by his perspective on things to watch a few Anime Abandon's even if I acknowledge that he's covering a subject matter that I'm very uninformed on.

I like hearing Brad Jones much more for his movie-Vlog-reviews-from-his-car-with-friends that I liked to throw on in the background from time to time over his actual Cinema-Snob reviews.

I intermittently followed Linkara, though me being having very little knowledge about/investment in comics and his videos stretching out to 30min/40min a lot of the time meant I kind of relegated his stuff to being background material, but he definitely has his moments and I loved it when he really got angry with something he was reviewing. (On a sidenote, I actually first heard about Yahtzee in one of his reviews, so cheers for that one Lewis. ;3)

I also liked Film Brain, Nostalgia Chick, I've seen the odd Jesu Otaku and CR here and there and I was starting to get into Oancitizen's stuff before I stopped coming back but I'm getting tired and I can't really be buggered to go into detail about them.
